The game is afoot once more! Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law reprise their roles as Holmes and Watson in the supersleuth sequel to the mystery megahit that minted over a half billion dollars worldwide. While vying with Watson's soon-to-be wife for the Doctor's time and attention, the detective extraordinaire matches wits with his arch-nemesis Professor Moriarty (Mad Men's Jared Harris), a criminal genius who's conspiring to make a fortune by manufacturing the next generation of wartime weaponry that the world's great powers will be forced to use against one another... once Moriarty succeeds in provoking World War I, of course. Joining the dynamic duo on their adventure is a feisty gypsy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Noomi Rapace) and Sherlock's craftier but crazier older brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry).

AwesomeMy step-dad owns both, when I first was gonna watch it, i thought it would be dumb and boring. But I was young, but after realizing Robert Downey Jr. Was in it, my hopes went up, then after watching it I had a huge smile on my face and ever since I've been watching these movies.

What a mess of a movieI'm a Guy Richie Fan but this movie is awful. You have to wonder if theymade it up as they were filming because there was so little thought put into the plot. Robert Downey Jr. one of my favorite actors is flat awful in this movie, the action was meaningless, the jokes weren't funny and the story so disconnected you only have a vague idea of what was supposed to be going on. I loved Guy Richie's first holmes thought it was well done and very entertaining. I was so looking forward to this movie and it is so awful it will probably kill the franchise. I don't know went wrong with all these talented people but this is a trainwreck not a movie some of the scenes being so bad you are embarrassed for the great actors in them. Jude law is still very good as Watson but Robert Downey Jr. seems to have lost the character or quit caring about it because he read the script and knew it was going to be awful. Good but NOT spectacularI can see where some of the critics are coming from, although Sherlock Holmes is not terrible its is also not spectacular from a directorial and writer perspective. For what it's worth, not much is added to the depths of these characters (besides a few supplementary plot pivots in their outcome of "A Game of Shadows") so growth was not seen only the same formula we have seen in the first movie (which is okay but not enough to merit this movie anymore credibility than the first). Also Ritchies directing methods and tactics seem to have been exhausted in the first Holmes movie (which is common for sequels, but with that said as a movie-goer I expect some sort of advancement in his formula of direction which I didn't see). Another disappointment was the writing (although not terrible) since this is Sherlock Holmes and not James Bond I expected a higher level of intellect in terms of plot and plot development (again not terrible but was expecting more due to the fact that this is is a sequel and also because this film introduces Holmes' arch nemesis the infamous Professor Moriarty). With all that said I would consider this film not-"fresh" but also not-"rotten", it did what it was supposed to do; and that is to excite its fans and continue the Sherlock Holmes franchise without sacrificing the elements that made it special to begin. Even though it doesn't add much what it does add should delight all who continue to support this franchise. But didn't do enough to be more original and character driven as the first which would than deem it a lower rating on "Rotten Tomatoes", which I see no problem with (although 61% is a bit of an insult)..Ramones 4 everScore: 4/5

Great Story!The storyline of this movie was awesome! It was slow at first and the guy next to me at the theatres even fell asleep! But, once the movie got moving, it was great! It will be sweetI saw the movie in theatres are it was very good, pay lots of attention to the details or you will miss things. I remained focused the entire time and still missed 2 or 3 of the tricks pulled in the movie. Ale Sherlock Holmes usuzuje, že princ se stal obětí vraždy, která je navíc pouze kouskem větší a daleko a zlověstnější záhady, kterou zkonstruoval profesor Moriarty. Při výkonu služby spojené se zábavou Holmes najde stopu v podzemním pánském klubu, kde Holmes spolu se svým bratrem Mycroftem Holmesem zapíjejí poslední noc svobody Dr. Watsona. Právě tady se Holmes seznámí se Sim, cikánskou kartářkou, která vidí víc, než prozrazuje. Vyšetřování se stává ještě nebezpečnějším, když se Holmes, Watson a Sim dostávají na starý kontinent.
