This is Purely a Soderbergh Spy FlickPeople are probably turned off by this film because it’s not anything like James Bond or Jason Bourne or any other spy with the initials of JB. It’s Soderbergh, straight through, with its muddled timeline and lingering shots and music instead of dialog. If you like that kind of film (Ocean's 11 without the wisecracking) then this is a really good film. If you’re more for quick, end-t-end action, it’s not for you. You’ll find it a bore.
This thing is methodical and subtle and only gives a clue as to what’s going on based on color palette.

What, noThis movies bad, but actually has many elements of a good movie. The fight scenes are particularly good and impactful. The problem is they are few and far between. The “twist” was obvious, and the main actress is not very convincing when she isn’t fighting. The cinematography is nice but the movie drags on and on until it just ends. Acting from everyone else was ok. Not sure why Michael Douglas was in this or Antonio banderas or.

A female spin on rogue agentIf you are looking for a deep theme movie with a "John Le Carre" plot, then this movie will likely only get one or two stars. However, if you like spy/action movies and a good plot, this is actually a movie worth watching. The female main character is being set up by her boss, a private contractor to the CIA, and while trying to stay alive, she tries to catch the guy who set her up. Good and realistic action scenes mix with a decent spy plot and create a very entertaining movie, told partially in flashbacks and partially as it happens. If you like action movies with a spy plot, this movie will give you close to two hours of good entertainment without getting boring..ColognedlScore: 4/5
