Irreverently hilariousTake a WWII action film and blend it with a hilarious comedy and you get Kelly’s Heroes. A group of burned out GIs find out about millions in Nazi gold and decide to go behind enemy lines to “liberate” the gold. The antics of the crew, such as Oddball (played to perfection by Donald Sutherland), Crap game (Don Rickles), Big Joe (Telly Savalas), and Kelly (Clint Eastwood playing, sort of, the straight man trying to keep the plan together) are hilarious but the best comedy might have to be Carroll O’Conner who plays a general who thinks the crew are motivated by sheer patriotism and wants to pin a medal on the chest of every single man involved in getting his offensive back on track..HistnrdScore: 5/5

One of the BEST!!!I love this movie. Donald Sutherland as Oddball steals every scene he is in. An ensemble piece that is part WWII war movie, part bank heist, part comedy. Kelly's Heroes is one of the movies I watched with my Dad when the 'edited for television' version would come on Sunday afternoons. Dad would always laugh when the guys fell in the latrine. Good movie bad priceThe only reason I posted this is cause iTunes just introduced an Eastwood 10 film pack deal for $45 or so amount. But I already own American Sniper and Trouble with the Curb so I cannot buy that deal. And I am further penalized by the fact that each movie alone in this 10 pack is high priced on their own. For example Kelly’s Heroes is $13 by itself. So why is it that someone who may have never even bought a movie in the past on here gets the better deal?
