The phrase "over the hill" only applies where there's gravity! Forty years after their original space mission was scrapped, a retired Air Force "space cowboy" leads a group of former astronauts on a dangerous mission to help repair a damaged Cold-War-era Russian satellite. Frank Corvin, ‘Hawk’ Hawkins, Jerry O'Neill and ‘Tank’ Sullivan were hotdog members of Project Daedalus, the Air Force's test program for space travel, but their hopes were dashed in 1958 with the formation of NASA and the use of trained chimps. They blackmail their way into orbit when Russia's mysterious ‘Ikon’ communications satellite's orbit begins to degrade and threatens to crash to Earth.

Pretty good!I liked it more than I thought I would. Okay, so don't take the name of the movie seriously. This isn't one of those cheesy 50's sci-fi movies. This is actually a drama about four men who have always dreamed of going into space, but their trip gets delayed by 40ish years when they mess up an air force mission. The four actors (Clint Eastwood, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, and James Garner), all have great chemistry together which makes for some great laughs along the way. Però es va crear la NASA i el projecte va quedar fora de la jurisdicció de les Forces Aèries. Ara, quaranta anys més tard, un antic satèl·lit de comunicacions rus s'ha espatllat i un dels quatre pilots veterans és l'únic que sap com arreglar-lo. Slovenčina Pred štyridsiatimi rokmi sa mali štyria špičkoví testovací piloti stať prvou posádkou, ktorá mala zblízka uvidieť matku Zem z chladného vesmíru. Zhodou okolností a vďaka neprajnosti podlého nadriadeného ich však predbehla opica a oni takmer upadli do zabudnutia. Dnes však na orbite krúži starý ruský komunikačný satelit, ktorý sa pokazil a hrozí nekontrolovateľným pádom do zemskej atmosféry. Súčasťou navádzacieho systému tejto družice je starý americký systém, ktorý kedysi navrhol práve Frank - a pretože ide o starú technológiu, môže katastrofe zabrániť len tím pamätníkov.

svenska Clint Eastwood har regisserat och spelar själv en av huvudrollerna i actionäventyret SPACE COWBOYS. Filmen handlar om fyra minst sagt erfarna piloter som en gång i livet drömde om att bli astronauter. Ingen av dem lyckades eftersom NASA ansåg att de var alldeles för stöddiga och arroganta. Nu, efter att framgångsrikt ha arbetat som piloter under många år, får de en andra chans att realisera sin ungdomsdröm. NASA vill fortfarande helst inte veta av dem men när en satellit kommer på villovägar i rymden behöver man en av de fyra piloternas hjälp.
