Following the French atomic bomb tests in the South Pacific, an unknown creature is spotted passing westward through the Panama Canal. Scientist Niko Tatopolous is called in to investigate the matter, and he quickly arrives at the conclusion that a giant, irradiated lizard has been created by the explosions. Godzilla(r) then makes its way north, landing at Manhattan to begin wreaking havoc in the big city. Even with the combined forces of the U.S. military to fight the monster, will it be enough to save the people of New York?
Ford Brody, a Navy bomb expert, has just reunited with his family in San Francisco when he is forced to go to Japan to help his estranged father, Joe. Soon, both men are swept up in an escalating crisis when an ancient alpha predator arises from the sea to combat malevolent adversaries that threaten the survival of humanity. The creatures leave colossal destruction in their wake, as they make their way toward their final battleground: San Francisco.

"Godzilla"I understand that this Godzilla has nothing to do with the original, but I like this Godzilla just as much as Toho's!!! The first time I saw this movie I was five years old, and little do I remember from when I was five, I do remember the excitement of going to see this movie in theaters!!! AwesomeThis movie gets serious hate. I can never understand why. It has some imperfections but overall this is a testament to how good 90s movies really are. The direction is fantastic, the special effects for the majority of the film are still fantastic and I truly enjoy the quirkiness of most of the characters. I understand this isn’t the type of Godzilla movie most people expected back in the day, but in my opinion it holds up incredibly well. Great action movie, and the sound is incredible. Earth shattering on a great sound system. The explosions and Godzilla’s roar truly sound unbelievable. The 4K transfer is also top notch..Score: 5/5

Godzilla is ruined!!!This movie is a bland rip-off of Jurassic Park it's just sad. Also, Godzilla is the KING of ALL monsters, he's NOT supposed to die through out the movie. FactsI dont care what any of you guys think, you have to think about this for a second. Godzilla maybe good years ago, but I believe he needed a make over, for couple of reasons. 1. He's very fat in the old movies, so i'm glad Patrick made him sleek, and there's a story behind his birth. 2. What he eats, in the old godzilla they never showed what his diet is. 3. You can't kill him? the monster or someone has to die in a movie, you can't make them immortal forever. Plus if brought him back through the series, the viewers will get bored. I wish they'd include his breath instead of roaring into fire and making it spread, but I can get by it..Score: 5/5
Not even godzilla despite the name and roarThis is a good movie but seriously a godzilla movie? Noo. It is not. They didn't even have godzilla fight anyone. Second they tried to make him different but come on he needs to be original and changed just a little. Ok so I saw the new 2014 godzilla movie and it is awesome. Way better then all the other ones. And sure they changed his look and roar a little but at least he looks a little like the 1900's godzilla and almost the same roar. But it is awesome you have got to see it. But yeah that's my review and no it's a cool movie but not good name because this is not godzilla.Score: 2/5
Simply a Bad MovieThis is a bad movie. My biggest problem with it is the characters and plot lines that don't make any sense. That supporting actress Audrey who stole the tv material - she should have been eaten by Godzilla. This was one of those movies where the characters go along and everything they do doesn't matter or have an appeal for the audience. They failed to connect the characters with the audience. There were some scenes like the helicopter that looked like shots from Jurassic Park or the Lost World and even included music that sounded like those movies. Also the creature Godzilla seemed a little like a Jurassic Park rip off..Score: 2/5

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.So I liked this movie when I was younger. But eventually, I saw how incredibly idiotic it actually is. Godzilla (or Zilla as he apparently was renamed) is NOT the King of the Monsters in this film. He’s not an ancient, fearless, super reptile with explosive atomic breath. He’s a cowardly, mutant lizard who doesn’t go out to crush everything in his path, his fleeing instincts are stronger than his fighting instincts, and he burps fire. Oh yes, and I should mention that the acting was 100 percent lame. Roland Emmerich screwed up big time on this one..Score: 1/5
