Not family-friendlyThis is an interesting attempt to weave a collection of Beatles songs into a musical narrative. And even though, by today's standards, the Beatles seem pretty innocuous, I would not consider this movie 'family-friendly', as iTunes has marketed it in a recent promotion..Score: 3/5
Landed on my all time favorites listStumbled upon this movie and went into it not knowing anything about it. From the very beginning I knew I was watching a movie that I would love for all time. Its a musical but rather than 'oh look they are going to sing' the songs are woven into the movie to tell the story--it isn't only a musical--its a story about a group of friends in the 60's and what happens to them. It is truly one of the best movies I have ever seen. The songs are not just a re-hash of Beatles songs--how about I Wanna Hold Your Hand stripped down with angst? This movie shows its appreciation and devotion to the Beatles...and the cast is super talented and up to the task of singing their hearts out. Watch the movie--you will be glad you did..Score: 5/5

Love it!I love this movie so much! it shows how the 60’s where and how big The Beatles music helped spread peace and love their music is amazing. they did a really good job singing! Beatles Fans...SorryA musical based on the music from my Number one favorite band: The Beatles! What can go wrong? Well, I'm afraid to say that despite the number of references from locations, to scenarios, to characters names of Beatles lyrics and the nice visuals; "Across The Universe" just didn't execute anything else very well. The story was just uninteresting, felt bored throughout, and I just didn't like the renditions of these classics. It's done in a way that pop vocals are done these days, constantly going up and down with octaves and pitches. It's not my cup of tea. The dull characters also don't help liven the show. I don't hate this film, because I appreciate the eye-candy scenes, and perhaps some themes that were going on (Strawberry Fields Forever in particular); but I wouldn't see it again. I wanted something so much more interesting to watch/listen to when I think of a Beatles musical. Very disappointed. :(.Score: 2/5
