The Man With the Golden HairI lot has been said about how this latest movie is the best Bond outing in a long time and how it has rejuvenated the series. As a longtime fan I agree that there are some interesting elements offered here in Skyfall but in all honestly suffers from too much plot redux that has appeared in many Bond movies of late.
If many fans rejected Quantum of Solace, which in my opinion shared more than a few characteristics with Timothy Dalton's License to Kill, I am indeed surpised to find not many fans have found similarities to Roger Moore's The Man with the Golden Gun and Sean Connery's You Only Live Twice. With similar plot arcs and themes being retread (albeit in an updated and more sophisticated fashion), it is interesting to see how this recylcling has been so well received by the audience of this film. Perhaps at this point in the series it is too much to hope for an exploration of new territory but rather endless versions of already visited tropes. Hopefully the Daniel Craig era can reach the potential promise offered by Casino Royale before the tuxedo is passed to a new player..SinisterLemonScore: 2/5
Happy 50th, James!This is a great Bond film, and maybe my favourite Bond film with Craig as 007. The action was great, the story was darker, and so exciting! I love Javier Bardem as the bad guy. Plus, the Aston Martin is BACK! Bond fans probably missed it (like me). Moneypenny is back as well (yay!). Ralph Fiennes will make a great M, I think. A must seeI saw it twice at the theatre, and as soon it was available on Blu-ray I had to have it right away. Awesome movie, if you haven't seen it, just rent it and if you like it, buy it on blue-ray, don't let other judge it for you, including me :). I just want to share my thoughts on this amazing movie, of course it has flaws and mistakes, but which movie doesn't. There's a storyline, and foreshadowing throughout, and it's emotional, sad, funny. Daniel Craig was great, so was Javier Bardem.
