Hosted by renowned neuroscientist and M.D., Ph.D., Dr. Adam Gazzaley, The Distracted Mind delves deeply into attention, distraction, the myth of multi-tasking, and how to use the latest research to possibly improve our skills and abilities at any point during our lives. While the brain can seem almost boundless in its potential, it has limitations, such as processing speed, attentional limitations, working memory limitations, and sensitivity to interference, which can be both internal and external. Dr. Gazzaley explores the impact that multi-tasking has on our safety, memory, education, careers and personal lives. Most importantly, The Distracted Mind tells us what we can do to improve our attentional abilities and our focus as we age, and as media continues to dominate our landscape. From changing our behaviors, to literally changing our brains, Dr. Gazzaley shares information you need to survive and thrive in the information age.

Everyone should watch thisThis movie is part documentary and part stage lecture about various types of distraction, the latest research on the impacts of distraction, the role age plays in our ability to form and recall memories in the presence of distractions, and how we can make practical changes to limit distractions in our environment. This movie could save you multiple trips to a doctor, especially since most of the suggestions are things you can do on your own, from limiting distractions when you're working to even playing certain types of video games to improve your mental agility in the face of distractions (e.g., Medal of Honor, not Tetris)..Score: 4/5

Probably a good message. Poor deliveryFound it ironic that the film about distractions was incredibly distracting to watch with moving graphics that did nothing for the piece. So distracting that I didn't finish watching it. The science of asking people to put up their hands in a studio audience was pretty lame and not very engaging to watch. Get to the point! I think this is a very important message! We are all super saturated with cultural clutter bombarding us every day. I wish this had been better, a more thorough exploration and also more professional video making. Keep trying. Great brain image on the cover..Score: 2/5
