Stole my heart in London, wanting more from filmI saw this musical live in London when I was eight years old. It completely amazed me. I have since been a huge fan of the musical, enjoying multiple adaptations, including the 25th aniversary concert. This movie doesn't exactly butcher the musical, but it doesn't do it justice either. With seemingly unimportant but noticable changes to lyrics, the absence of moments, and the complete execution of Eponine are some of the things keeping this from a higher rating. Eponine's character, through no fault of the brilliant actress, was completey botched, the writers changing her role in the story and taking away her sympathy.
