Harrison Ford stars in this fascinating, dark vision of the near future as a policeman who tracks engineered humans--a Blade Runner. In the year 2019, the police department forces Rick Deckard (Ford) out of retirement to hunt four genetically engineered humans who have come to earth. Designed to do difficult, hazardous work, the manufactured humans are stronger, faster and smarter than nonengineered humans. They feel no pain or remorse; they are almost indistinguishable from other humans ... and they are killing people. Now Deckard must stop them before they kill again.

In the smog-choked dystopian Los Angeles of 2019, blade runner Rick Deckard is called out of retirement to terminate a quartet of replicants who have escaped to Earth seeking their creator for a way to extend their short life spans.

Best VersionA true masterpiece of science fiction. Powerful, engrossing, dark and hopeful all at the same time. Harrison Ford and Rutger are phenomenal. My favorite scene is when Deckard comes back to his apartment after the final confrontation to find Rachel asleep on his couch. Something about that scene just sends a chill up my spine. The raw emotion of the moment. Of returning to something you love dearly after a near death experience to make you realize what you have. In my opinion, the best version of this movie includes the narration which this does. If you haven't seen Blade Runner before, this is the version of the movie you need to see first. Without the narration, you'll be left grasping at some concepts and story elements. A must own for any true Sci-Fi fan..Dadof2GirlsScore: 5/5

Best sci-fi movieThe original theatrical release. This is what you want. Watch this first then the tinkered versions. You may read Scott wanted things different, thus the other versions. I say see them all, but start with this. Film noir - check. Science - check. Cop drama - check. Amazing cinematography - check. Great writing and directing - check. Narration! Thank you for bringing it back!This is the best version of the movie. Harrison Ford's narration gives context that's otherwise missing in the other versions. This version has no ambiguous long scenes with no dialog. One much more fully understands the mind of Rick Deckard and sees more fully his point of view. 1982 US Theatrical Release"They don't advertise for killers in a newspaper. That was my profession. Ex-cop. Ex-killer. Ex-blade runner." Yes folks, it's all here in its noir-ish glory… Rick Deckard's narration. Sure the Final Cut fixed some glitches and edits, but I'll take the original 1982 US theatrical release any day. It was never broken to begin with. I gambled on this purchase, fearing it might end up being the 1992 Director's Cut, and was thrilled when the narration kicked in. My only wish is that the iTunes Extras were included here. If you agree that the voice-over adds more than detracts, then skip the Final Cut and get this version..The Ugly MunchkinScore: 5/5

TimelessAnything I write will have already been written 100 times about this film. I was just 6 when it released into theaters. This was one of the first laser discs we had, yes pre VHS technology. It wasn't until I was older and had seen it about 100 times that it finally sunk in. The narrative is still relevant today. The original cut was the best cut, there's something to be said for instinct and this was the cut they felt was best for telling the story to a paying audience. I wonder if Ridley Scott had any idea, any at all that he was making a legendary, instant classic when he filmed this movie? Just another notch on Harrison's belt, but easily one of his best..ProfPolishScore: 5/5

5 stars because Blade RunnerBut the final cut really is better imo. The voiceover in this version is very monotone and becomes an unnecessary exposition device later in the film, telling after showing which becomes redundant. The original ending is an eyesore, very out of place and a Deus Ex Machina. The final cut fixes some goofs as well..OmnithomasScore: 5/5

What version # would you call this????It is extremely close to the original but for one obviously violent detail in gore .....when Roy murders Tyrell ....this version extends a look at Roy as he is killing him ....the version I remember was like this version but included how Roy was killing him...in this version you are led to believe that he just crushed his skull....the version I remember....Roy stuck his thumbs into Tyrell’s eyes and you actually saw the blood flowing over and around his hands. Yes I know ....gory but violently viscous ....then you see the fear in Sebastian as he tries to run away. This is undoubtedly the best version with Deckard’s narrative and no dream of a unicorn which made no logical sense. So I guess this is actually the pg-13 version lol and not an actual bloody gory R......lol ..... Still a classic and should never be touched again..... even by Scott. This version was the guideline for things to come. Happy that I own it now digitally like my original VHS ....oh but wait that has the eye gouging. Enjoy !!!!.Pinkmunky2Score: 5/5
