Doesn't get much better than this!Comedy Gold! This is one of the movies I never tire of because it's well-written, hilarious, touching, and brilliantly performed. I wish movies such as this were still being made this well. This movie should be enjoyed by those who enjoy movies such as House Sitter and Funny Farm. Som sällskap ar de Alexander Godunov och Maureen Stapleton, som dock inte kan förhindra förödelsen. En film för alla som haft problem med sitt förhållande och sina finanser.

A tak Walter žije s čerstvě rozvedenou houslistkou Annou Crowleyovou v domě jejího bývalého manžela – dirigenta Maxe Belssarta. Max se však vrací a Walterovi s Annou nezbude než si hledat nový domov. Díky „výhodné“ koupi, zprostředkované přítelem Jackem, koupí na první pohled krásný, prostorný dům. Zde je však čeká peklo. Na cokoli sáhnou, to exploduje, zřítí se, v nejlepším případě nefunguje (tato část překypuje velmi zdařilými gagy). Původně zamýšlené drobné úpravy se mění ve větší, až nakonec nezbývá než zadat generální rekonstrukci. Po čtyřech měsících je parta budovatelů v nejlepším. Oběma hrdinům tečou nervy. Jejich původně něžný vztah se mění v utrpení a situace se ještě komplikuje ve chvíli, kdy Anna hledá útěchu u svého exmanžela, který se ji vší silou snaží přivést zpět…
