Shut up, Rotten Tomatos.This movie is beautiful, it's like a medieval version of Gladiator, except the directors cut makes Kingdom of Heaven perhaps even better. Rotten Tomatoes belongs at the bottom of the list with all the other trolls. It seems that they say this movie is bad because they think that Ridley Scott should have literally levied an army of 200,000 extras and laid siege to the city of Jerusalem and assault it with actual fireball-launching trebuchets while his lead actor tries to hold off Scott's army with hundreds of local volunteers instead of modern computer technology to use. In the meantime, the Rotten Reviewers take offense that the lead actor is, yes, the same guy who played Legolas, and they don't believe that a sympathetic main character should surround himself with other religious sympathizers and come in conflict with violent zealots..LordVulpinatorScore: 5/5

Same cut as Director's cut with a musical intermissionFirst off, if you own the Director's cut this is the same movie. Only thing added was a musical intermission. However, it does contain some extras not included on just the Director's cut. It also contains the theatrical release. The theatrical release is junk. Although watching it would give an excellent example of how editing can absolutely ruin a movie. Secondly, the Director's cut is the ONLY version you should watch if you just want to see the movie or if you thought the movie wasn't that good. Good, but not great!I recall seeing the theatrical version in the theater and wondering why it seemed "incomplete". Now I realize that the idiot producers cut out a huge chunk of the movie and many key plot points. The Director's Cut certainly gives more justice to Ridley Scott's abilities as a director as this cut is superior to the theatrical version. It does have its problems with various contrivances and "dramatic lucky breaks" for the protagonist, but those don't ruin in the movie. I also would rather have seen the Muslims speaking Arabic to one another, rather than English, as that seemed too ethnocentric, but I did absolutely love the depiction of the Christian and Muslim armies marching across the desert and the epic battles. Edward Norton does a splendid job in his role - you hang on every word. A decent movie about the Crusades and the Middle Ages..Purity PrydainScore: 4/5

Even better than theatric releaseKingdom of Heaven is one of my all-time favorites and I was very happy to see this Director’s Cut. It has been a while since I watched the theatric release but I don’t believe there are any additional action scenes (other than one short hero vs villain near the end but I won’t spoil further) if that’s what you are looking for, but the Director’s Cut includes quite a few of additional scenes focusing on character development and tying the storylines together. With these additions, the movie flows much more smoothly and does not have gaps leaving audience speculating. All in all a worthy purchase if you enjoyed the movie in the past but feel it was a rushed and unfinished product like I did..ThePengfulTruthScore: 5/5

The critics were wrong!After seeing the theatrical version of the movie back in 2007, then the Director's Cut version a couple years ago and now this new version I have to say it is not only a great movie but a very entertaining and liberal version of the probable different way history occurred back then in the XII century. Perhaps the theatrical version was incomplete, "too Hollywood" like, butchered by the dumb editing trying to fit it into a "common" time frame. The later versions show a different product, one that any movie fan should give a try. History is in the books, it is also the version of the victors… never in a movie, much less a Hollywood one… but this is a nice version, one that invites viewers to research and learn more about the real history of the fall of the city of Jerusalem. I have read nearly a dozen critics of this film, some here with Rotten Tomatoes… and apparently the majority try to hurt more than to construct a real critic of the film; perhaps it is the image of Ridley Scott and trying to hurt it, perhaps it is their own ignorance and lack of touch with reality. Absolutely AtrociousWhat an absolute mess this movie is. Whoever wrote this movie must be one of those silly “try to portray history to please everyone,” people. In trying to please everyone it feels like he pleases no one. Putting aside all of the erroneous stereotypes they try to portray, the movie it self leaves you feeling like there is no real point. In fact they portray that message throughout. The protagonists of the story are a murderer and a stupid tart who kills her own kid out of selfishness. What a mess. What an absolute mess. According to this there is no real morality. Wow, who’s the creep who made this up? Whoever did needs to seriously pick up a book on the history of the crusades. What a joke..Kevboys69Score: 1/5

Extended cut is a work of brillianceMuch more depth of meaning is available in this extended version. A very complex situation in history is given a much more thorough treatment. There is also some very thought-provoking scenes about faith: whether God can exist even if "religion" has gone badly awry. In addition, there is also more action and realism in the conflicts.
