Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
Teenager Riley's mind headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.

If only….If only the review were as good as the trailer. Unfortunately it’s not. Spoilers: most of the movie is in the protagonist’s mind and not interacting with other people. She has an existential crisis because her family moved from Minnesota to San Francisco. The vast majority of the movie is a dreary tour through her dysfunctional subconscious. If only there were as much spontaneity and dynamism in her subconscious tour as in the conscious. The trailers contain almost all of the best material..Score: 2/5
