I stated it when season 8 came out that Peter Capaldi is hands down one of the best actors to potray the charater of the Doctor! I am a LONG time Doctor Who fan - I have watched nearly EVERY episode from the 1st Doctor to now! This season had it all - heartwarming themes, best enemies to fight, mind twisting conflicts, and even morality when it came to facing a dark past...Davros! There are a lot of Steven Moffat haters out there (just ignore them) - Moffat truly understands this show and has given something amazing not only to the new school Doctor Who fans, but to us old schoolers as well! And Peter Capaldi...what can I say...YOU are now MY Doctor!
Acting, script, music, sets, have all HUGELY improved in this season, I love it!
I liked Capaldi as The Doctor in season 8 but I just felt like the stories and and the writing were pretty poor. They all focused around death and not knowing who oneself is. It was a pretty depressing season and not one I will revisit soon. However! Season 9 is one of my favorites as a whole since... idk, the one with Martha Jones? (Not that I didn't like Matt Smith or Amy and Rory, but some of the story arks, especially the Silence, had me a bit more than confused.) This season is all about immortality and the pain and loss that comes with it. And some cameos from Game of Thrones (which I recently got into) so that was nice to see. All together it felt like everyone had more fun making this season and The Doctor's humor is more fun (where as last season it was pretty dark humor that just earned him a slap in the face.) Hell Bent is a fantastic "stuck in a room" brain twister who's twist really had me surprised! Really well done episode! As for that one found footage episode... I skipped over it. I heard bad things about it and didn't want it to sulley my experience soo.... 11/12 aint bad... right? Seriously, if you didn't like 8, give 9 a try and THEN decide if you don't like Capaldi's doctor. I love him now!
Heaven Sent/Hell Bent are my all-time favorite episodes. Not only has the music score provided by Murray Gold continue to improve and astound me, but the stories of Doctor Who keep their elements of suspense and fascination, alongside some heartwarming scenes! The 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi) shows genuine strength, witty and dark humor, and stature as the Doctor. Capaldi, without a doubt in my mind, has grown to become a significant Doctor that'll leave an everlasting impression on the legacy of Doctor Who.
If the made this Doctor regen again back to the season two Doctor that would be cool. But im still really excited about season 9 of Doctor Who?! GREAT SHOW😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😀😡😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Doctor Who has outdone itself this year, two parters, serious themes, Capaldi, Coleman all make this season incredible.
Any concerns after last season's confusing story line are resolved as Season 9 lets Peter Capaldi shine as The Doctor! The first episode began the season strong and it only gets better each week. Love it!
I think now everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think doctor who is kinda moving into the horror type spooky area and I think at the speed they are going its gonna be 16 episodes per season so in 2017 we are gone be in season 35 BUT who knows ;-) anyway this show is great if you like sci-fi/spooky
The story, music, acting The best of the season, and can't wait for the finale
Man the jump scares "Heaven Sent" are awesome. lol Almost felled out of my sit! LOL Also I love how Peter Capaldi is adding hand jesters like the classic doctor who. Like when he pop is finger in his mouth that was a thing that one of the classic doctors would do. (i forget which doctor did it) but i love that. Just wish they would add a classic car back into the show. i wonder if the doctor still has it... or maybe tartis has a garage lol. Also i wish they bring back the kung fu Jon Pertwee!! Go Peter Capaldi!! lol
It’s everything it should be! Will there be a Season 10? I hope there will be if the writing is this good! Season 1 to 9 are brilliant, nothing less than brilliant! Steven Moffat you move me!
beaucoup trop de titre sans version francaice meme si celle- ci existe !!!
Really loving the current Doctor, as he is really growing into the role. This rating is for the show - $38 for the Season?? Way too high - would think $25 would be more reasonable especially since you are asking me to buy the Christmas Episode separately & these are all digital too - maybe could see $35 for a blu-ray with a digital copy included but for digital only it should much lower… check your prices if you want more to actually pay for this stuff. Not mention that you can buy the current season of Arrow or The Flash right now for $25 and that has over double the # of episodes (Current season of The Walking Dead is less $ and more episodes).
I always buy the season pass when a new Doctor Who season is out, it's so convenient to have in my library and watch on my laptop and the Extras are great, but for the price it should really include the Christmas episode too. There's one at the end of every season, so why not? Shouldn't have to pay another $2.99!
This season of Doctor who has been the best season I have ever seen. The season was great when it started with Davros coming back, and then when the doctor gave his anti war speech it really made me love it. I just finished watching heaven sent and I have to say that it was defenetly one of the best episodes of Doctor who I have ever seen. Peter capalidi is a wonderful Doctor, he is my favourite out of all the doctors, and I hope he doesn't regerate in the next episode hell bent. I would defenetly pay 40 dollars for this, I would pay 100 dollars for this season it's that good. Defenetly buy.
Sorry to say this season is not so good. It is only OK
Ok first episode was really good… The second one had some great insights but seriously (Spoiler alert critique : sunglasses instead of a sonic screwdriver??? and also, Daleks not able to fly off the planet to save themselves from the sewers??? What gives?)
5/5 only because we're huge fans. Let's see how many episodes are included. Hopefully not split like they've done in the past.
This season of Doctor Who was amazing. Totally worth buying. I enjoyed all of this series apart from "Sleep no more." Don't watch this one unless you're a found footage fanatic.
Last season was boring to me. I watched Capaldis performance and wasn’t a fan. But from episode one when had had the gutair to the last episode when he was just plain Badass made this season one of the best Dr Who seasons ever. 10/10 for me
A fantastic season! Nothing more need to be said. Lets enjoy!!
The Magician’s Apprentice and The Witch’s Familiar are both spiritual and literal sequels to 1975’s classic Doctor Who story ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ which saw the debut of Davros, creator of the Daleks, and showed what a memorable villain he could be: a scientist who wants to play God on an unbelievable scale. The Series 9 two-parter opener is already a modern classic for Doctor Who fans, and rightly so. This story takes one of television’s greatest baddies and adds several layers to the character as well as revealing an aspect of The Doctor we haven’t seen quite like this before.
A remarkably strong start to Series 9, a marvellous opening story that glitters with respect for the legacy of the series and mesmerises old and young alike with new intriguing angles that build on what was ushered in when Peter Capaldi was properly introduced to us in Series 8. I’ve no idea where this year’s crop is headed but in times past you end the batch with stories like those we got in eps 1 and 2! One hopes The Doctor’s Meditation, which is meant to follow on from the Prologue and precede The Magician’s Apprentice, will soon be offered here! :-)
Absolutely fantastic, extraordinary, fabulous! I am loving the new series. It. Is. EPIC. Acting is amazing, the emotions conveyed, the plot gut-twisting, it's definitely worth taking up 1.5 GB of my phone's space downloading HD.
