Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer has resigned his throne and retired to the City of Angels, where he is indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, song. When a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered before his eyes, he feels something awaken deep within him – for the first time in roughly 10 billion years. Is he actually capable of feelings for a human being? The very thought disturbs him — as well as his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen (aka Maze), a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman. The murder attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Dancer, who finds herself both repulsed and fascinated by Lucifer. Surprisingly good (not so good anymore after first episodes)Lucifer is…well…not really a good person but he is…SPOILER ALERT…fed up with being the bad guy. He is arrogant, witty, honest (which is surprising), too honest and too blunt, he is charming and he is perceptive and quite the devil in disguise. The main cast has a very good chemistry and everything seems to be just perfect. If the writers can keep up the good work, especially with the dialogues, this is going to be the hell of a show. Deeply religious people may have issues with this show but if you pay attention closely…SPOILER ALERT…this isn’t about good and evil but about someone who is fed up with being evil. The producers shouldn’t change a bit of this show, I think they hit the nail just right and any change could ruin the charm this show has. Do not listen to the critics, they are either hating this for religious motives or they want something with more supernatural stuff in it. In my opinion, the show is just right, the mix of a crime drama with some minor supernatural features is just right. They would ruin it if the supernatural goes further. Perfect show, very entertaining and not flat or shallow at all. It reminds me a little bit of House and the wit of the first seasons. UPDATE after watching a couple of episodes: The first episodes were amazing but then…SPOILER ALERT…when Lucifer started to become vulnerable, the whole concept of this show kind of doesn’t work anymore. What I always loved about this show is the arrogant main character and his interaction with us „humans“ and of course that female detective but lately, the writers seem to kill this story and it is very disappointing. PLEASE keep the Lucifer character like he was in the beginning because now, the stories are getting boring and I am not interested in a mortal devil. It takes the fun out of this show..Score: 4/5

DisapointingCreators are definitely going for the lowest common denominator on this one. What could have been interesting has ended up being very formulaic and lame. I remember watching the very first episode of Penny Dreadful and thinking that it was lousy, but then, by the second episode, I realized it was going to be a great show. I was hoping for something similar with this series; however, the creators/writers etc. are going through the motions..Score: 2/5
