Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale gives a subversive take on small-town life. Things aren’t always what you expect in Riverdale. As a new school year begins, the town is reeling from the tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom. The summer’s events made all-American teen Archie Andrews realize that he wants to pursue a career in music, but his fractured friendship with Jughead Jones, and Josie McCoy’s focus on her own band leaves Archie without a mentor. Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper is not ready to reveal her true feelings for Archie, and new student, Veronica Lodge, has an undeniable spark with her crush. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom, Riverdale’s Queen Bee, who stirs up trouble amongst Archie, Betty and Veronica. But is Cheryl hiding something about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there’s more to the story.

Good OverallThough I do not think the first 2 or 3 episodes are very good, I still like the show. By the 4th episode you can see that the characters have layers and are complicated. Characters not longer have everyday cliche problems. Instead they become stuck in nerve wracking situations and exciting adventures. Even though the cheesy dialogue sometimes makes me cringe and/or laugh - see: jughead’s “weirdo” scene - I still think this show offers suspense and adventure, as well as romance and friendship. The music that they use usually works great, and it really adds to the mood. Good job riverdale for that! Anyone reading this who is deciding whether or not to watch riverdale: you should give it a shot. I completely understand not liking the first couple episodes, but believe me, it gets a lot better. Try watching the first four or five episodes. If it’s not your cup of tea, then it’s not. But I can tell you that it’s definitely mine..Score: 4/5

The Jury is OutIt's not great, but it's not too bad. It shouldn’t have been based on the Archie comics, thats for sure, that part of it has no relevance what so ever to the show. As a child of the 90's, seeing Luke Perry turn the corner made me quite happy, if only for a short moment. The entire casts acting is so-so, except for stand out Cole Sprouse. I love (sarcasm) how there's no continuity or accountability. The kids never go to classes but are always at school. Everyone is a detective. If there was ever an Archie comics TV show it should have been sweeter and funnier..Score: 3/5
