During a one-hour special edition of The Bachelor entitled The Bachelor: Countdown to Nick, viewers will get a more in-depth look at our newest Bachelor, the controversial fan-favorite Nick Viall. Bachelor Nation weighs in on Nick’s latest attempt to find love and get a personal look at a few of the 30 amazing bachelorettes who will try to capture the final rose, as well as some of the most memorable “Night One” arrivals in Bachelor history.

A trio of popular former Bachelors – Sean Lowe, Chris Soules and Ben Higgins – offer their support and encouragement to Nick, who will face all new pressures and responsibilities on the highly anticipated 21st season premiere.

As Nick continues his search for love with the 22 remaining beautiful bachelorettes, Liz is particularly anxious: she is keeping a tumultuous secret about her romantic past with the Bachelor. When Nick learns that his secret is starting to come out and he has to make some drastic, stunning decisions to save his major opportunity to find love. A vicious argument between Corinne and Taylor rages on just before the rose ceremony in Wisconsin. When the dust settles and the roses are all given out, two heartbroken women are sent home. However, for the remaining 13 bachelorettes, it’s on to one of the great romantic cities in the United States: New Orleans. Nick’s first one-on-one date in the Big Easy provides combustible chemistry as the couple sightsees, dances and goes to a Lolo concert. Ten bachelorettes join Nick for a thrill-a-thon as they visit an allegedly haunted plantation where a resident ghost makes her presence felt. Two arch rivals prepare to face off in the dreaded two-on-one date. Tensions are high as they head to NOLA’s mystical bayou. Which woman is stranded in the swamp, and which gets the rose? The evening ends with another abrupt surprise for both Nick and his date.

Corinne, Rachel, Raven and Vanessa are left in Bimini, still shocked that Nick sent Kristina home before the rose ceremony. They wonder if they still will get a coveted hometown date from the unpredictable Bachelor. But with the stakes being so high, Nick will go on an emotionally charged journey to visit these final four women’s hometowns. Raven meets him in Hoxie, Arkansas, and then, it is on to Dallas where Rachel and Nick confront the challenges that might meet an interracial couple. Corinne is waiting in Miami and finally, Nick travels to Montreal to reunite with Vanessa. Just as Nick gets ready to make the gut-wrenching decision to send one woman home, he gets a surprise visitor, who could change everything.

What is Andi Dorfman doing at Nick’s hotel door? He just finished visiting the families of the final four women, and Andi shares a bombshell suggestion with Nick about the fantasy suite. After a painful rose ceremony, Nick rejoices with the final three bachelorettes as they head to the snow-capped winter wonderland of Lapland, Finland.

Raven and Nick have a very special romantic night in the fantasy suite with a dream-come-true ending. Nick and Rachel’s day begins with cross country skiing to a reindeer farm where they cozy up in front of a roaring fire, but will Rachel let her true feelings be known? Finally, Nick and Vanessa must deal with the aftermath of her contentious hometown date that didn’t go as smoothly as either would have liked. They have a lot of obstacles to overcome if they are to share a future together. Tempers flare and there are plenty of fireworks, as 19 of the most memorable women this season are back to confront Nick and tell their side of the story. The very self-confident Corinne, who has been the woman viewers and the other bachelorettes have loved to hate, returns to have her chance to defend herself.
