Instant classicTake every sci fi theme from the last 50 years and update and translate them for 2015 and you've got Dark Matter. From androids to identity to cloning to dystopian politics to VR, not a stone is unturned. The team chemistry is great and the Arc of 5 is not to be forgotten. Special mention should also be made of the incredibly well done fight coreography, stunt work, and fight-camera work, as well as the impressive VFX shots. Are there flaws? Well, no less than Star Wars or Farscape or Star Trek any of the other classic beloved franchises. Some might be turned off by the political/emperor subplot, but there are many other subplots to choose from and in my opinion it never gets overtaken by one or the other. We still have at the core the story of the characters and their development from amnesiacs without an identity to people wrestling with their true pasts and their place in the universe. This show truly went out on when it was in top form - the lack of closure might be the only downside to becoming a fan of this series..Score: 5/5

Dark Matter, goes away like so many others.Like many great shows in te age of digital media, has gone by the wayside. There have been a number of shows that fit the "Star Trek" model. They get 2-3 seasons then get cancelled leaving an frustrated and irritated fan base. Dark Matter seems to be one of these, an exceptionally good story, cast and production crew, all tossed away after 3 seasons when it could have go on indefinitely with the current story line. It is because of this practice of being killed off early that I don't even start getting into some shows, rather than face the disappointment caused by short sighted production companies, I simply refuse to get drawn in again..Score: 3/5
Excellent Series - killed too soonWhat a great show! I watched the first eposode of season one with trepidation, but was pleasently surprised by the originality! Great characters, unxepected twists, and a relatable universe. Anothergood show that became the victim of corporate idiots who dont understand the demographic of the those who watch. Hoping the creators will do a "Firefly" type movie or miniseries to complete the story.. Imean who cancels a show with a huge foloowing with a heartstopping cliffhanger....Score: 5/5

Dark Matter Amazing Sci-FiEach season of Dark Matter gets better and better! Fantastic actors that deliver on riveting storylines! Series had great viewership numbers. I’ll never understand why SyFy cancelled it unless it’s because they don’t know what amazing Sci-Fi is. I’ve seen them do it many times and wasn’t going to watch DM. So glad I caved! "My neural matrix is suboptimal"...seriously?There's great sci-fi like "The Expanse," and then there's mediocre..."Dark Matter." Season 1 was fun with recognizable stereotypes that offered a little more. Each episode ending in a cliffhanger, or at the very least, left you wanting more. Then Season 2 came along, and the storylines slipped, and disarray entered, and now, Season 3 continues in that vein. I find myself in Season 3 wondering just what the story is about. It seems to jump all over the place since Season 1, with the writers throwing in pieces of various sci-fi from just about everything that's been tried lately, time paradoxes, "12 Monkeys," "Humans," etc. Every episode in Season Three seems like watching the series "Supernatural" where they do a "kill of the week" story when they can't think of anything else to do. Science jargon has run amok with the beauty in the title of this review dropped on us in the last episode, and one of the biggest info dumps in TV history to start the show. It's like they suddenly thought of a new idea and wanted to kick start it before the season ended. They need to bring back the writer from Season one and develop a coherent storyline. But sci-fi is a rare commodity so I"ll end this by saying it's "OK.".Score: 3/5
