From executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, “Ted”), THE ORVILLE is a new space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows a mid-level exploratory spaceship, with MacFarlane as the ship’s Captain. The Orville, Season 1 Wiki
1 - Old Wounds
Set 400 years in the future that follows the exploits of The U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the problems of everyday life. In the series’ opener, it’s 2417, and the Planetary Union promotes ED MERCER (MacFarlane) to Captain of the exploratory vessel The U.S.S. Orville. Ed’s enthusiasm for his new position is dampened when his ex-wife, KELLY GRAYSON (Adrianne Palicki), is assigned to be his First Officer. While on their first routine mission, the Orville crew is ambushed by the Krill, a vicious alien race, who are bent on stealing a device that can cause time to accelerate.
2 - Command Performance
When Ed and Kelly are tricked by a hologram of a ship in distress and find themselves prisoners in a replica of their former home, Alara must step up in her first command of the Orville and attempt a heroic rescue. Meanwhile, Bortus and Klyden receive some happy, yet unexpected news.
3 - About a Girl
The Orville crew is divided between cultures when Bortus and Klyden debate if their newly born offspring should receive a controversial surgery.
4 - If the Stars Should Appear
Ed and the Orville crew encounter a massive vessel adrift in space, which is in danger of colliding with a star. While some of the crew set out to help the ship’s inhabitants, Bortus, Gordon, and John stay behind and fend off a Krill attack on another Union ship.
5 - Pria
After the crew saves a stranded ship and its attractive captain (guest star Charlize Theron), Ed becomes smitten with the Orville’s new guest, while Kelly suspects all is not what it seems. Meanwhile, Gordon attempts to teach Isaac the art of pulling off a practical joke.
6 - Krill
After the Orville crew defeats a Krill attack on a brand-new colony, the Union sends Ed and Gordon on a dangerous undercover mission to infiltrate a Krill ship and obtain a copy of the Krill bible, the “Anhkana,” to better understand the enemy.
7 - Majority Rule
When two Union anthropologists go missing on a planet similar to 21st century Earth, Ed sends a team led by Kelly to find them, but the mission quickly goes awry when they realize the society’s government is completely based on a public voting system to determine punishment.
8 - Into the Fold
Ed and the crew set out to save Dr. Finn, her two sons and Isaac after their shuttle gets thrown into unchartered space and they crash-land on a moon that is light years from the Orville.
9 - Cupid's Dagger
The Orville is called to mediate a peace treaty between two warring cultures, but tensions run even higher between Ed and Kelly when a familiar face boards the ship. Meanwhile Yaphit declares his love for Dr. Finn with surprising results.
10 - Firestorm
When a fire breaks out on The Orville and a crew member dies, Alara begins to question if she is fit for her job, just as unusual and terrifying things start happening on the ship.
11 - New Dimensions
Kelly discovers that Lt. John Lamarr is smarter than he lets on. So, she pushes Ed to consider him for a key leadership position on the ship after The Orville gets damaged by a mysterious spatial anomaly causing harrowing effects to all things living.
12 - Mad Idolatry
Ed and Kelly heavily reconsider getting back together but while she is on a mission with Isaac and Gordon to investigate the origins of an unchartered star, they suddenly crash land on a planet from another universe. Kelly then makes a decision with unforeseen long term consequences on the planet putting Ed in a difficult position.

Just finished watching The Orville Season 1, and I have to say that Seth McFarlane is indeed one of Hollywood’s top Trekkies. It felt amazing watching The Orville as it felt like Classic Trek, Relatable Characters, Humor, Good Stories, and it even tackles current days issues better than Star Trek did. If you’re a Star Trek fan then this is a must watch.
Sci-fi that is fresh yet familiar. More depth than I expected. I highly recommend it :-)
T over tool P very gf Ltlglppp Looking to
One of the best shows I’ve seen. Has a great next generation vibe.
...this has turned into the best show on television. The plots are worthy of any SciFi show and the acting is great. I am eager to watch season 2 now.
An enjoyable show that mixes a bit of humor with serious Star Trek science fiction. Of course, haters will hate, but for me it scrubs away the days stress.
I almost fell prey to the opinions of too many "reviewers" and missed out... but after the 3rd episode of the 1st season I became a huge fan. Is it perfect? No. But man... it's funny, intriguing and yep, there's even some pretty cool sci-fi thrown in. I have learned to try and watch every new show, spoof or remake with an open mind and give it at least 3 episodes (unless it's morally and/or ethically reprehensible) before jumping on a site and giving a show 1 star. I challenge people who like sci-fi and like comedy to try this show for a bit before making up your mind. I find it completely entertaining and surprisingly different from most of the drivel that passes as "TV entertainment" anymore.
This is one of the best tv shows I’ve ever seen. It is funny, covers a broad range of topics that make you think without shoving its conclusions down your throat, and has a great cast. It’s so refreshing to see what a space adventure would be like with your normal, everyday people.
I feel it needs to commit a little more to either a comedy or a serious drama it hard to tell some times. It gives the feel of Star Treak with a bit more home humor.
First episode has no audio.
Seth McFarland has done it again. Absolutely a homerun.
This is a great show.
i really enjoy this show ….hope it does not get cancelled i especially liked the 7th episode!!!! the best so far i think
I was expecting something Ronchi but was very surprised on how well the story is written the action the graphics cinematographer everything is on point I'd recommend the show
Great show! Was very surprised at how well the special effects were. Very funny and witty. Cast is great..
Just as good as any Star Trek show but with a humor element that was missing from the Star Trek serials. The JJ Abrams movies infused some needed humor into the universe. There were moments in TOS and TNG where humor was evident, but very sparingly. Not here! The humor is light-hearted (sometimes crude) but good natured. The characters feel real. I enjoy ST: Discovery, that show is very well done also, but the characters are not nearly as fun. I say give Orville a shot (if you are skeptical) and enjoy the ride!
I really enjoy it and look forward to every episode. On the one hand it's an homage to the great Star Trek Series esp. TNG and DS9. There are some very thoughtful episodes that ask questions about morality and cultural expectations (About a Girl). On the other hand it's a straight up parody that pokes fun at itself and the genre. Can't wait to see what's next - Thanks Seth et al.
We're three episodes in and I have to admit, I'm surprised by it. I thought it'd be a really crude spoof of Star Trek: The Next Generation, it is Seth MacFarlane after all. But it's actually pretty decent. Its almost like a funny love letter to ST:TNG from McFarlane. It may be worth checking out if you are willing to give it a chance...
And this will be more successful as the new Star Trek series, very good development, it catches the core of the old Star Trek series...think about what you see. And it is FUN 😂😂😂 Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron... really? Oh boy this will 💥 💥💥💥👍🏻✌🏻😃😝😂😂💥💥💥💥🏆🏆
Seth obviously understands Star Trek... this is Star Trek with irony and humor...sometimes over the top. Instead of the ending of every episode being happily ever after, sometimes it’s “and they all died...move on” type of irony vs Star Trek saving planets and races every episode. You can tie each of the episodes thus far to a loosely based ST episode if your a Trekkie. Good stuff.
