Instinct stars Alan Cumming as a former CIA operative who is lured back to his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer. Dr. Dylan Reinhart is a gifted author and university professor living a quiet life teaching psychopathic behavior to packed classes of adoring students. But when tenacious top NYPD detective Lizzie Needham appeals to him to help her catch a serial murderer who is using Dylan's first book as a tutorial, Dylan is compelled by the case and comes out of retirement. Helping them is Julian Cousins, Dylan's invaluable CIA comrade who rivals Dylan in brilliance and wit, and can get top-secret dirt on anyone, anywhere, anytime. Lizzie's boss, Lt. Jasmine Gooden, is glad to see her best detective finally agree to work with someone on a case, since Lizzie has refused any partner since a tragic event one year ago. But as Dylan feels reenergized tapping into his old skill set, his husband, Andy, is concerned that Dylan's breaking their pact about putting away his cloak and dagger for good. Though Dylan and Lizzie initially clash, when it comes to catching killers, they realize they will make an ideal team if they both trust their instincts. Based on the James Patterson novel.

What Happened to Episode 3?All of a sudden Itunes is getting to be really bad about making episodes of shows available for download on Itunes. Episode 3 of this show is missing and the latest episode of Call the Midwife is always a week late being made available. I won't be buying any seasons outright anymore because Itunes has become far to unreliable..Score: 1/5
MehWanted to love this show. Cumming is such a brilliant actor and the only reason I give it 3 stars. Female lead (Lizzie) is either not right for the part or simply canât act. Donât get me started on the writing, or lack thereof. New writers, new female lead. Ready, start, reboot..Score: 3/5
Not original, but still fun. This is a shameless knock off of both Elementary and Castle, even down to the closing music. The set up is incredibly unoriginal, and it's way too obvious that Alan Cummings was able to work every personal fantasy and preference into the details and backstory of his character (should have let the writers make the character more believable)... but as always, Alan Cummings is good in just about everything he does, so I'll be adding this to the list of weekly shows I watch for sure, and try to overlook the parts that don't mesh. If this doesn't last, it's because the actors had too much control over the details..Score: 5/5

Ep 3 Stolen from BonesI like Alan Cummings but this episode was stolen from Bones âThe Plain in the Prodigyâ it wasnât similar, you guys actually stole dialogue! Word for word. Poor Elementary cloneI guess they are looking for a replacement but for me this isnât it. I have only watched the first 3 episodes and knew who did it as soon as they appeared on screen (were you supposed to)? I am not watching any more.
