Dexter Morgan, Miami Metro Police Department blood spatter analyst, has a double life. When he’s not helping the Homicide division solve murders, he spends his time hunting and killing bad guys that slip through the justice system.
Dexter's world is rocked when a rival serial murderer, dubbed the Ice Truck Killer, privately contacts him and reveals that he knows Dexter's grisly secret.
While stalking a recently released convict who may kill again, Dexter has to deal with the latest crime of the Ice Truck Killer, a chopped up hooker in a pro-hockey ice rink.
Dexter is intrigued when the Ice Truck Killer starts leaving pictures from Dexter’s childhood at the crime scenes that are meant to tell Dexter something about his own past.
The Homicide division is abuzz after the Ice Truck Killer’s latest victim is found alive.
The Ice Truck Killer leaves Dexter a surprise at the scene of one of Dexter’s recent kills, putting Dexter firmly in the crosshairs of his own Homicide division.
The Ice Truck Killer is finally identified, but something about the suspect doesn't sit right with Dexter.
When the suicide of a powerful, high profile woman reveals a strange pattern of murders, Dexter stalks a killer unlike any he’s had to deal with before.
Rita, Debra and Rudy join Dexter for a weekend away when Dexter finds out that his biological father, whom Dexter thought had died 30 years ago, has just recently passed away and left him his all his belongings.
The Ice Truck Killer leaves Dexter the most horrifying crime scene imaginable, forcing him to confront a horrific suppressed memory from his past.
The Ice Truck Killer kidnaps someone close to Dexter, forcing him into a trap that will forever change his life, while Doakes begins to harbor suspicions about Dexter's odd behavior.
In the season one finale, Dexter follows the clues left for him by the Ice Truck Killer in an effort to rescue his kidnapped loved one, while Rita's ex tries to convince her that Dexter is too dangerous to be around their children.
In the season two premiere, Dexter finds himself unable to kill again after the harrowing conclusion to the Ice Truck Killer case, and strays from his personal code with disastrous results.
Dexter remains on the trail of a dangerous new victim, while the traumatized Debra loses control on the job. A high-profile FBI agent arrives in Miami to investigate a newly discovered serial killer, the Bay Harbor Butcher.
Dexter stalks his latest victim: a man so vile he could only be a used car salesman. But Dexter finds the man’s smooth talking charm and effortless lying something he lacks these days.
While pretending to be a drug addict, Dexter gets an N.A. sponsor to please Rita. But when the sponsor turns out to be a beautiful woman who may have more in common with Dexter, Rita is not happy. Meanwhile, Dexter must find a way to lead the all-too-smart FBI Agent Lundy off his trail.
Dexter discovers the man who killed his mother is still alive. When he shares this information with Lila, she suggests he face the man, as part of his “steps” to addiction recovery.
Dexter is none too pleased to discover a copy-cat killer has started his own attempt at vigilante serial murder in Miami. He is even less pleased to learn the new killer claims to be inspired by the “Bay Harbor Butcher.”
A written manifesto from the “Bay Harbor Butcher” sends the Special Task Force in charge of capturing the killer into chaos. All part of Dexter’s plan as he tries to be more “pro-active” in keeping Agent Lundy off his tail. But things start to spiral downward for Dexter as Lila’s influence begins to take its toll on Dexter’s personal life.
After a fire at Lila’s place, Dexter finds her becoming more attached to him than he is comfortable with. At the station, Debra and Lundy find a clue that points to the Bay Harbor Butcher being right under their noses.
As Dexter tries to distance himself from Lila, he discovers she is not so willing to let go of their relationship. Meanwhile Lundy’s manhunt for the Bay Harbor Butcher starts to make Dexter nervous as he tries to stay one step ahead.
Dexter finds himself with the upper hand when Doakes tracks him to his latest kill. But when Doakes reveals a secret about Harry’s past, Dexter’s world comes crumbling down.
As Lundy’s noose starts to tighten, Dexter finds himself dodging bullets both figurative and real. Dexter now must decide about not only his own fate but those of the people he cares most about.
Season two concludes as Lundy and the FBI settle the case of the Bay Harbor Butcher once and for all. But the heat’s not entirely off Dexter as his world literally becomes an inferno. Can he rise from the ashes once again?
In the season three premiere, Dexter's life seems to be smoothly back on track, until he targets a dope dealer who also happens to be in the sights of Assistant D.A. Miguel Prado. Internal Affairs pressures Debra to rat on her new partner.
Every cop in Miami is tasked with finding the fugitive Freebo, who is accused of killing the younger brother of Assistant D.A. Miguel Prado. Dexter and Rita move closer to making a big decision about their family.
Dexter encounters a fellow predator - but this one is a pedophile; a murder is pinned on Freebo but Dexter knows the truth. Meanwhile, Dexter struggles with the fact of his growing friendship with Miguel.
Dexter scrambles to convince Rita that his marriage proposal is sincere and romantic. Miguel's vengeful brother Ramon searches desperately for their sibling's murderer, who was secretly killed by Dexter.
Dexter hears the story of a husband who has gotten away with murdering two wives for financial gain and tracks the man to Bimini, but Rita has a medical emergency while Dexter has disappeared.
Dexter tests Miguel to determine if his friend has discovered his secret, while Rita loses her job and wonders if she's meant to ever have a successful career.
Dexter begins working with Miguel but they quickly have differences in selecting a potential new victim. Rita discovers that Miguel's wife suspects him of an affair, and an old friend of Dexter's asks for help in ending her life.
Dexter undertakes to teach Miguel the Code, but doesn't realize he's whetting his partner's thirst for blood. Debra is one step closer to finding the Skinner but a secret revealed about Anton sends him packing.
The friendship between Dexter and Miguel become strained even as Rita revolves to confront Miguel about his suspected infidelity. Debra searches furiously fro Anton when it's revealed that he was abducted by the Skinner.
A series of chess-like moves ensues when Dexter and Miguel vie for the upper hand, with Miguel winning Rita's affection by presenting her with a lavish wedding gift. Debra wonders if her relationship with Anton is worth the trouble.
Dexter must find a way to get rid of Miguel despite the fact that his friend is a highly placed district attorney (and Dexter's best man). Rita discovers that Miguel has been seeing an old flame, and Debra finds a new clue to the Skinner's identity.
In the season three finale, Dexter attempts to calm the emotionally unstable Ramon now that Miguel is out of the picture. Debra is about to receive her detective's shield but is blind-sided with information that could derail her promotion.
In the season four premiere, Dexter sleeplessly struggles to balance his new family life with his dark, murderous drive for a fresh victim, and his busier-than-ever forensic career pursuing a new target, The Trinity Killer.
Dexter realizes that he has carelessly misplaced crucial evidence that could expose his dark side to the world, while helping to investigate new slayings that Agent Lundy insists are the work of Trinity.
Dexter is hampered by his neighborhood's increased vigilance due to vandalism, his temporary inability to drive himself anywhere, and his admiration for the killing technique of the artful Trinity Killer.
Dexter gets some much-needed R&R time with Rita and the kids out of town, leading to his stalking of a new victim: a cop that murdered her family.
Dexter is inspired to investigate the Trinity Killer on his own, while Debra blames herself for an event that was out of her control. Rita realizes how little she knows her husband after discovering one of his secrets.
Dexter doubles his efforts to stay ahead of the official Trinity investigation, and receives relationship advice about the friction between himself and Rita from a most unexpected source.
Dexter finally strikes a balance between family, career and his secret life, but is thwarted in his pursuit of his next victim. Debra expresses a renewed and unwelcomed interest in their father's checkered past.
Dexter wonders if his father's Code is truly the right path, and hopes to get answers by accompanying Trinity on an out-of-town road trip. Debra discovers that her single-minded pursuit of Trinity has blinded her to the truth.
Dexter learns more about Trinity's bizarre and twisted world, while Rita has her hands full preparing Thanksgiving dinner for a full house.
The disappearance of a ten-year-old boy forces Dexter to question his assumptions about Trinity.
Dexter must buy time to protect himself when Debra's investigation brings the department one step away from identifying the Trinity Killer.
In the season four finale, Dexter and Trinity find themselves on a collision course, as Debra unearths a shocking long-hidden truth.
In the season five premiere, Dexter reels from Rita's murder and makes a choice that will affect everyone's lives. Quinn stirs up trouble by suggesting that Rita's death doesn't fit Trinity's profile.
Dexter tries to focus his energy on his kids and fight his dark urges, but a shocking discovery puts him on the trail of a new victim.

left888 - NOT AT THAT PRICE1 star

Dexter was an OK show, 10 years ago. At the prices iTunes are asking for some of their shows, it's amazing. A show this old shoud be going for $49.99. Not even interested at anything higher.

Dexter is easily the best show I’ve watched in my entire life. It’s on a higher scale than every other show. It’s perfect in it’s own way. I wish they continued the show after season 8 or made a movie continuation or both. To be honest, if I had the money, I’d give it to them so they continue the show or make a movie or both.
