Love Jeff and this show!I have been a long time fan of this show. Jeff, Gage, as well as his staff have some wonderful ideas and input. In fact if I could criticize one thing, itâd be that Iâd like to hear more about the designs themselves and costs - how and why they ultimately end up making the decisions they do. For example, is that chandelier listed for $8k (fake number), WORTH the price tag in a particular home because it set the tone of the rest of the house because of where it is located? And when lesser cost items are selected to meet budget and why those werent âas importantâ as perhaps another material or item used elsewhere in the house. As a layperson with an artistic flair plus background as a chemical engineer and manager of 8-10 techs in semiconductor development and manufacturing world (I was a DEFECT engineer Jeff!! Aka âPolice officers of the FAB floorâ!), I particularly love , and emphasize with, Jeffâs high standards and drive for quality and doing things well, but also efficiently (to yield high a ROI for both him and his CLIENTS; which his REPUTATION hinges upon!). I understand why he can come across as âOCDâ or nitpicking, and why at times it may seem like he lashes out a little at his people or subs - there is a high bar and he has a lot at stake. His job is to insure all those around him yields the best of the best designs and work - and to do so at an affordable price for his clients. It does not matter that many of his clients are celebrities or high income. They understand value and ROI; itâs not just about beauty and the end product. A big factor is getting it done on time, and at a competitive or at least fair price for the higher end product and look that results from Jeff and his teamâs work. Oh but the man has a heart, and it can bite him in the SHORT run, as well as longer run if he doesnât clean up the mess...but he always does! But i think that is just another thing many of us relate to, seeing some parts of ourselves in Jeff. I know I do as an experienced business owner in insurance and property management, which I ended up leaving my white collar Engineering job for so I could have a more flexible schedule Iâd be the one in charge of (and have kids). Itâs often those âwild cardsâ; those people, and situations right there, even though many times creates a ticking time bomb of extra work for Jeff, personalizes Jeff and our connection to him and the rest of the people in the show. And my personal opinion is while short term may be a hinderance and do a little damage to the business (Jeffâs personal time and increased stress level to ârepairâ any potential wake that may have got into motion), the overall âwholenessâ - the end result ends up being good for everyone. More positive vibes into the world than negative. And this wild card factor is probably one of the main reasons the show has had the success it has, and kept things interesting enough for audience members to be captivated by the show - even those who may not nessesarily be into interior design and architecture. But I get a lot of great ideas from the show for my own real estate developement - especially because getting âthat lookâ is critical for our units in particular being that they are on the Columbia Riverfront. And we want it to be high quality and enjoyable for everyone who ends up staying at our place. It is very exciting to see it come together even though we have a lot more area to improve and grow. So I will be watching Jeff for years to come, as long as heâs on the show! My kids like him too - I just have to skip or pause a few parts, but I also EXPLAIN WHY he is so upset and or swearing. Kids need to seek to understand much more these days, rather than they themselves get âoffendedâ or put off. Heâs mad for a reason and heâs serious. Letâs hear him out is what I say! Heâs also successful for a reason and people like Jeff or anyone like him can get upset when people arenât doing their best work or keeping to their word - he calls them on that! And I let them know. đ.Score: 5/5
