This year Rebecca is in some ways like a baby chick that’s about to tumble out of the nest and in other ways she’s that friend who is searching for enlightenment and kinda can’t stop yammering about it. As always, Rebecca’s actions have had unintended consequences for her West Covina friends -- Nathaniel feels betrayed by her, Josh is taken aback by her, and Darryl is parenting her baby. Paula, Heather and Valencia remain staunchly by Rebecca’s side but they are busy finding their own identities (as a law student, regional manager and kickass party planner, respectively.) Will everyone be content to stay in the nest with Rebecca? Or will they start to transcend the sunbaked, boba-strewn purgatory that is West Covina? The answer to these and other questions lies in this season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as themes of redemption, recovery, responsibility, rebirth, renewal and reality and other words that begin with “R” will bring our ultimate “R”, Rebecca, to the satisfying end of this chapter of her life.

The slowest season yetI am a huge fan of the show. Seasons 1-3 we’re in my opinion very interesting and fun. It took us on a roller coaster of a emotions! But the 4th season is very different from them. It is slow paced, disappointing, full of side plots that don’t have any impact on the show, and just kind of boring. I skipped a couple of episodes and seems like I haven’t really missed out on anything. There’s is only one episode that I thought was really good out of all of season 4, which is episode 8. I didn’t like any of the other ones. And they also seem to be running out of plot and good songs which is a real bummer:(.Score: 3/5

Recasting of a certain character.........just didn’t do it for me. No matter how much you want to rationalize it as a story telling device. Season 4 definitely feels off compared to the first three. Characters are completely written upside down and do things completely left field. A lot of plot points don’t make sense, and I just find the musical numbers lacking..Score: 3/5
