Nothing Like The PreviewsThe build up to The Passage looked amazing and I was so excited to download the pilot. But WHAT A MESS! No mystery, no imaginative FX, just a bland kidnap drama. There must be more interesting episodes in store. I was going to buy the entire season 1, but I'm glad I didn't. Proceed with caution especially if you're expecting a vampire show. My review of The PassageThe Passage is more than just your typical vampires or any other blood sucking shows. In this show, these vampires are called virals. What sets this show apart is the bond among many characters; mainly the two leads, Amy Belafonte and Brad Wolgast. Other interesting relationship is also between the viral, Shauna Babcock and lead agent, Clark Richards. To top it, the virals are super creepy and have the mental abilities to invade in everyoneâs dreams as well as communicating with anyone if they desire. The lead viral, Tim Fanning or Patient Zero loves playing the psychological game; and that is messing up peopleâs weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Of course the show kicks into high gear when these virals managed to escape and start their killing spree. To me, this show is way better than The Strain. Iâve noticed many book readers are disappointed with this show coz itâs different from the book. Liz Heldens, the producer mentioned that they are not going to follow religiously on Justin Croninâs novels. I have read all three books, and sure, there are many differences but this tv show is so good and so thrilling that I donât mind the changes. In fact Iâm enjoying the ride and really hope that FOX will renew for another season..Score: 5/5

Bloody AwfulI was excited when this was anoounced and giidy by all of the people involved in the production. I have read the novels at least 3-times. That being said, this is a steaming pile of smelly refuse. It has so far (2-episodes) diverted so far from the path of the novles to be almost unrecognizable. I don't like the casting choices. I don't like how they've switched round some of the charcters. I was hopinh for far more and it's probably an indication of how network TV works. This probably would have been much better handled by HBO or Netflix if they had produced it. Save your money and look elsewhere. Fox has devolved this into unpalatable tripe..Score: 1/5
