2 BROKE GIRLS is a comedy about the unlikely friendship that develops between two very different young women who meet waitressing at a diner and want to one day own their own cupcake business. Sarcastic, street-smart, Max Black met the sophisticated, school-smart, Caroline Channing when the uptown trust fund princess became a waitress after losing all her money due to her father’s Wall Street scandal. Max was surprised that Caroline had as much substance as style. Caroline learned that Max had a knack for baking cupcakes and visualized a lucrative future for them. With some financial help from a friend, they opened a cupcake shop, lost the shop, then opened an after-hours cupcake window at the diner, where they tried to build their business while continuing to wait tables.

These 2 Broke Girls deserve a big tip!What’s better than the idea of a McDonald’s diner that’s half dive bar and half vintage original from the 1970’s? Two cute girls taking your order and bringing you the food, that’s what! This show is genuinely funny and I am very stingy when it comes to giving out my laughs while watching sitcoms. Great crude, light humour after a stressful dayThis is my show to put on when I want to relax. I don’t have to think to hard and I can put this on as a background show if I’m multitasking. I’ve watched the whole series about 6 times since the finale. The 2 leads have amazing chemistry. Yes, there is controversial humour, sometimes juvenile, regarding racial stereotypes, however the show does this for ALL races & ethnicities. White, black, Asian, Italian (…those Robert De Nir-hoes, Caroline says about 2 Italian snobs with heavy accents), Polish, Russian, Aborigines, blondes, New Yorkers, junkies, gay, straight - no community is overlooked. It’s Laverne & Shirley on crack, the counterpart of Two and a Half Men, humour like Married …with Children, and aesthetically The Lucy Show with Lucile Ball (check out Max’s look when the girls work at a t-shirt factory “And the Fun Factory”) One more season would’ve been great, but it ended with enough closure, but a bit open ended to wonder what the girls are doing now..Score: 5/5
