In Season Eight, Bonnie must learn to adjust without her daughter and former-roommate, Christy, around. With a chaotic past behind her and a newly empty nest, she focuses on her marriage and on what she wants to be now that she’s finally grown up. Now more than ever, Bonnie depends on the support of her friends, and collectively, they help each other face whatever life throws at them.
Christy is a single mom who, after years of questionable choices, is now sober and trying to get her life on track. She's tested daily by her newly sober mother, Bonnie, who is trying to make up for all the ways she's let Christy down. Christy is further challenged by her relationships with her own kids. Her daughter Violet is engaged to a man twice her age and her ten-year-old son, Roscoe, would rather live with his father Baxter, a former slacker who has only recently gotten himself together. To help her stay sober, Christy relies on her support system from AA, comprised of her sponsor Marjorie, her wealthy sponsee, Jill, and her emotional friend, Wendy. Christy tries to remain positive as she attempts to overcome her past and build a better future, but with her dysfunctional family and life's many setbacks, it's always an uphill battle.

Seems like a ripoff$29.99 seems like a bit much for a season with only 5 episodes, at best that’s like $14.99. Also, I was shocked to discover Ana Ferris isn’t in this one, I’m afraid to watch this season, I always thought Ana would be in the season finale, she’s an important cast member to the series. Really makes me hope for a season 9 with her doing a comeback..Score: 3/5

Script not funny anymore. What happened?I have bought all seasons but not sure if I’m going to buy Season 8. Even though Christy isn’t part of the cast anymore, I was expecting future seasons to be funny anyways. Maybe it will get better on the 3rd episode but so far, not that funny. I blame the script, who’s in charge of the script now? The script has been amazing for 7 seasons, so something changed for sure. I hope the script improves ASAP..Score: 3/5
