Friday Night Lights, Season 1 Release Date and Synopsis

Audiences cheer the first season of this poignant and powerful drama. The intimate storytelling and inspired performances involve the viewer with an authentic portrait of life, love, family, and friendships that really hits home. Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) is under intense pressure from the entire town to lead the high-school football team to the championship. Wife Tami (Connie Britton, also from the hit movie) provides loving support as the school’s counselor. Amazing!I know what you're thinking, another show about teenagers and their drama... but it's a lot more than that! It is a great story about lives in general from young to old. Kyle Chandler is fantastic (although what is he in that isn't?) and really brings life into perspective. Absolutely FantasticSo, I've recently become obsessed with Friday Night Lights. While some may attribute this to the abundance of attractive men on this show, I'd have to say that I love how Friday Night Lights is shot, written, and edited. As a bit of a TV snob, I'd have to say that this show is in the same league as The Wire, Mad Men, and Lost. I hope that Friday Night Lights continues to be an upstanding production. And I really want itunes to put up season 2 and season 3 so that I do not have to watch them online and in bad quality. All in all, watch this show! It is great!.Score: 5/5

Best show on televisionI got the first season of friday night lights for easter last year and i had never heard of it. after watching the first 2 episodes, i was addicted. i usually dont go for the football shows because i hate football. but this show is sooo much more than that. it has the drama of one tree hill but the reality of laguna beach (: the cast is also amazing!! lyla garrity- sweet girl everyone loves, but theres much more to her than meets the eye. jason street- a real down to earth guy who has a huge tradgedy thrown his way. tim riggins- you learn to love him! not to mention..HES GORGEOUS<3 the taylor family- coach is not only a great coach, but a good role model for the team. tammy seems like a real mother! and i think a lot of girls can relate to julie, i know i can.!.Score: 5/5

One Of The Most Underrated Show On TelevisionDon't be put off watching this series by thinking it is a show only about football. It is so much more than that. If anything the football is the backdrop on which all the fabulous drama unfolds. I cannot think of the words to do this show justice. One of the best written, best filmed and best acted shows on television. This is riddled with so much subtlety and texture. The shooting style of the show also brings a rare realism to a TV show. The first episode - I admit is pretty sports heavy but by episode 2 + 3 you will be hooked. I have gotten many a friend of mine enthralled with this show - sports fans and sports haters alike, boys and girls too. I could not recommend this show enough. Amazing if you appreciate drama and appreciate the art of television. Furhter more has an eccletic song collection throughout each episode..Score: 5/5

Sporting cliche at its bestThink of every single sporting cliche that you've seen in a movie. You know, the last minute winners, the maverick in the team, the no-hoper made good etc. Well, this series contains all of them... and it's not a bad thing, for a change. Through the series, each episode treads the line between cheesiness and credible drama, but treads it successfully, without ever lulling into the former. Great writing, directing and a fantastic cast of previous unknowns (including eye candy for men and women) mean that this series is a triumph and especially appealing to those who appreciate quality teenage drama, or drama of any kind, for that matter (and not just sports related). So, download the pilot and at least a couple more episodes and see what you think for yourselves..Score: 5/5
