The most powerful heroes ever — Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman, and Robin — join forces with teenagers Wendy and Marvin and their dog, Wonderdog, to defend justice and guard the innocent. Two teenagers, one dog and five heroes — they're Super Friends to the rescue! In Season 1, the Super Friends battle Anthro from the planet Traum, maniacal extortionist Professor Baffles, ingenious scientist Dr. Laban, and many other colorful characters.
In this continuation of the Super Friends franchise, eleven of the greatest DC heroes and newcomers gather to battle the Legion of Doom. Led by Lex Luthor, the 13-member Legion contains some of the vilest villains in the universe. Each week the villains gather and come up with some new scheme to conquer the planet, or the solar system, or the galaxy! The Super Friends inevitably defeat them, only for the Legion to escape at the last moment and return the next week.Each week would feature two 30-minute segments. The first featured the Legion of the Doom. The second segment featured adventures revolving around the five core members--Superman, Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman--and their alien sidekicks Jan, Zayna, and Gleep.The series is best known for introducing three minority superheroes--Samurai, Black Lighting, and Apache Chief--to introduce some cultural diversity to the program.

May not have been the best season, but it led to its long run!I'm a huge Super Friends fan from the old days. I didn't see these episodes until they were being rerun in the '80s. Since this season hasn't been released on DVD yet, I figure this will be the next best thing. Marvin, Wendy, and Wonder Dog may have provided the comedy relief, and sure, I look back now and realize how preachy each episode turned out to be, but let's face the facts. With the state of the world today, is it any wonder people want to go back to a time where innocence and education were a part of life? I for one am very happy to see this show anywhere at all!.Score: 5/5

My Kids are loving these as much as I did back then.I remember waiting till this came on on Saturdays. Simple, uncomplicated and just fun to watch. Even now, I get a kick out of watching them. Got my kids hooked on them as well. They love them. Can't wait for the other seasons..Score: 5/5

This is the original!I am 52 here in 2018. This is the show in the 70's that we woke up early on Saturday mornings in the early 70's to watch. Say what you will about it, but they don't make shows like this anymore. That's Casey Kasem as Robin, and the narrator is Ted Knight. Remember those voices. It doesn't get any better than this for folks of my age. These episodes are stuck in my head. Enjoy!.Score: 5/5
