England, the near future. The TARDIS materializes in a quarry and Sarah is trapped under a rock fall. But what is the origin of the fossilized hand she is found gripping? And who is the Eldrad she keeps mumbling about?

The Best of Tom Baker! One of the best of the classic series, this is Sarah Jane's last story (or so we thought back in 1976!). Creepy as all get out and full of anxiety about the dangers of nuclear power plants. This story has tons of interior footage in the TARDIS auxiliary console room (the wood one!) and the lots of twists with the wonderful gender-bending character of Eldrad. Despite Sarah's awful candy-stripe outift (was that ever in fashion?), The Hand of Fear is a great treat for fans of the classic series..Score: 5/5
A classic amongst classics"Eldrad MUST live!" It's full of science fiction clichés, from silicon-based life forms to gravel-pit exterior locations, but it's one of the best Sarah Jane/Baker episodes in the series..Score: 4/5
Great Episode!A must have for your Tom Baker collection. Please itunes more more more Doctor Who classics!.Score: 5/5
Juuust scary enoughI grew up with Tom Baker as "my Doctor", and this is the episode that always comes to mind when I think back to those days. This was the first episode of Who to give my seven year old self absolute nightmares for weeks. But it's the good kind of creepy...scary, suspenseful, but didn't having me hiding behind the sofa the way The Weeping Angels did in "Blink" and "Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone" did in the David Tennant and Matt Stone eras. Elisabeth Sladen's sweet Sarah Jane being mind controlled while wearing those too-cute pink overalls...I had no idea she could play creepy just as well as inquisitive and defiant. Sarah Jane Is definitely at the top of my list of favourite companions. Hand of Fear is absolutely a must-have for your "Favourite Episodes" collection..Score: 5/5
Brilliant Show, but iTunes is misleadingI'm as psyched as anyone to see Doctor Who classics on iTunes, but, come on iTunes. You are not buying a "season" by buying the Season Pass on this. You are getting one story in four 25 minute episodes, and they should be sold as a single download. You are selling Tin Man at $1.99 per episode, but each episode lasts over an hour and a half..Score: 5/5
"til we meet again Sarah"Who knew how true those words were back then! Sarah Jane is by far the best companion ever to travel with the Doctor! I am so glad they brought her back in the new series - with a series of her own!!! I had such a crush on her as a kid (heck I still have a crush on her now in the new series as an adult!). A great episode for any true Doctor Who fan. Oh...and a secondary console room....did anyone else notice how much it resembles the console room in the 8th Doctor episode/movie? :).Score: 5/5

Quite AlrightSo, Doctor Who: The Hand of Fear as the title, I think a better title could have been chosen as the hand is only in eps 1 and 2 and in eps 3 and 4, well, I'm not gonna spoil that(!!) So, basically it's Sarah-Janes' last adventure and it is dissappointing as Sarah Jane is one of the best Classic Companions (But Ace is my favourite!!) and she leaves the Doctor. There is this sort of cliffhanger at the end because the Doctor says that he got a call from Gallifrey and that he can't take Sarah and will have to leave her on Earth (she does not mind because she was sick of the Doctor ignoring her and minutes before she had been going on about leaving and then packed her bags) So all in all, it's not a bad story. I also recommend: The Green Death, The Planet of Fire, Time and the Rani, The Three Doctors, The Two Doctors & Ghost Light. Thanks for reading. :).Score: 4/5
Worst best episode everThe best Dr Who storyline in my opinion. I loved the moving hand shot at the end on episode one. It's a pity we had to say goodbye to one of the best, if not THE best companion of all time. Well recommended watching it though..Score: 5/5
