The Office - Producer's Picks Release Date and Synopsis

Once in a while, there comes along a show so good, so funny and so outstanding, that it’s hard to agree on what are its best episodes. So, we gave up and asked someone else to do it. And who better than the show’s Emmy Award-winning writer and Executive Producer, Greg Daniels. He thought about it long and hard (that's what he said) and came up with his top ten list. Well, he's the boss...and this is his favorite funny.

Steve Carell (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) stars in this sitcom based on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's award-winning comedy. Told through the lenses of a documentary film crew, The Office exposes the humorous and often foolish events at Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In this first season, Dunder-Mifflin Regional Manager, Michael Scott (Carell) leads the documentary team and his staff on a journey through inappropriate behavior, well-intentioned but misguided comments and a myriad of poor management techniques. Michael has no clue that his employees can barely tolerate him. In his mind, he is their guru, their mentor, and their cool friend. His staff includes his dedicated-to-the-point-of-annoying assistant, Dwight Schrute, office receptionist Pam, and likable sales rep Jim. During the six episodes of Season 1, Dunder-Mifflin tackles tough subjects including company layoffs, diversity initiatives, health care, and office alliances. Anyone who has ever worked in a "team" environment can appreciate the humor and suffering of the Dunder-Mifflin staff and The Office.

Michael forces all employees to take part in a corporate weight loss challenge, but it’s his chutzpah that may finally tip the scales. When an office infraction results in business ethics training, everyone may just have to abandon all principle to get it over with. And, when a burglary upsets the workweek, will the experience further bond The Office coworkers, or just prove to be another way for the boss man to steal their respect? Will Michael continue to be Jan’s baby’s daddy? Will Dwight win over Angela’s heart? Will Jim get on with proposing to Pam already?

Are those wedding bells in the air? Is that the pitter-patter of little feet on the office floor? Has Michael turned mafia boss? With Dunder Mifflin on the brink of bankruptcy, who knows, he may just have to — or maybe it’s just time to replace the Dunder Mifflin leadership. And since Pam Beasly is now a sales representative, you can bet that is bound to set off a chain reaction that will affect the entire office. Everyone’s favorite workplace comedy is back, and the surprises are running on overtime. Don’t miss the new season; it all starts with a jaw-dropper.

To err is human. To irr is Michael Scott. He’s irritating, irrational and irrepressible. And those are the very same qualities that make him so irresistible. Yes, Golden Globe winner Steve Carell is back as the boss you hate to love. Once again, the cameras take aim at the madness and monotony of the American workplace when the Dunder Mifflin employees punch the clock on the seventh season of the Emmy-winning show. What to expect? The usual good stuff: bad behavior, addictive storylines, outrageous humor, and, of course, quality assurance. The greatest thing about the office? It makes wherever you work look like the best office in the world.

Inappropriate remarks, petty behavior, zero productivity - you can change the boss, but you can't change the office. Season 8 of the hit comedy series promises to be the most interesting yet as the beloved cast keeps Dunder Mifflin moving in a world (and office building) without Michael Scott. Office politics mix with old friendships and new rivalries as James Spader joins the cast as Sabre CEO Robert California. But everyone is still wondering the same thing: who is going to be the new manager? Nobody knows, but with the likes of Dwight, Jim, Darryl, Andy and a whole slew of surprise contenders involved, this power struggle promises to be NSFW (Not Safe For Work).
