4 dollars an episode is 200 times more expensive than HBOHBO On demand's True Blood through iTunes, at $4 per 1-hour episode is 200 times more that the 2 cents an hour I pay for 700 hours of HBO TV a month. $3.99?!?!?$3.99 for an episode?!? I love that iTunes/HBO have finally gotten it together and started offering HD for most of the HBO catalog, but that pricing is BS for True Blood only. Every other show I've seen is $2.99 for an HD episode…an agreement that even mighty HBO is a party to with all the other series they're offering in HD. So what gives for this gouging-style pricing for this show??? I WILL buy all three seasons when the pricing is adjusted accordingly. Please get that message. But I won't buy True Blood EPISODES (you know, 42-45 minutes total run time) for the same price it costs to rent an HD movie that's twice as long, if not more..Score: 1/5

Not greatToo preachy. Lots of sermonettes about tolerating vampires. The first time it was cool, in fact it was very intriguing. But when the characters preach the same message at least once an episode, it gets very tiresome. It shows a lack of creativity on the screenwriter's part. The acting is so-so. It's suppose to be campy (I think), but some of the acting is simply hammy. Also, there are many scenes that plod along at an unbearable pace because the dramatic tension was never established at the outset or it wasn't properly sustained as the scene unfolded. But, hey, there is plenty of t & a. What boggles my mind is how it has managed to stay popular so long..Score: 2/5

The first season of the American television drama series True Blood premiered on September 7, 2008 and concluded on November 23, 2008. It consists of 12 episodes, each running approximately 55 minutes in length and was, for the most part, based on the novel Dead Until Dark, the first entry in The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. The story takes place in the fictional town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, two years after vampires have made their presence known to mankind, and follows telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse as she attempts to solve a series of murders that seem to be motivated by a hatred of vampires. HBO broadcast the first season on Sunday nights at 9:00 pm in the United States, with a repeat showing at 11:00 pm. The complete first season was released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 19, 2009.
