The animated series that follows die-hard Republican and card-carrying NRA member Stan Smith (Seth MacFarlane) and his hilariously odd family in Langley Falls, Virginia, is back to salute a fifth season of laughs. Smart and Sharp but not ObviousWhen I first started watching American Dad, I was expecting a Family Guy-esque style of humor. Instead, it struck me as strange and I would rarely laugh upon first seeing an episode. But as time has gone on, I have found it to be a very smart and witty show. It may share an office and staff with 'Family Guy' but that's where the similarities end. Where Family Guy smacks you upside the head with hilarious (and sometimes questionable) antics and jokes, American Dad goes about tickling your funny bone in a very subtle way. There have been times where I have seen an episode maybe five times and I'll pick up on little jokes I didn't notice the first four times. Even the opening sequence (starting with Season 4) contains a few little easter eggs that you would not notice unless you play it frame-by-frame. If you find yourself scratching your head over American Dad, give it a chance and you'll be laughing in no time..Score: 5/5

Great Show... but why is ITunes so late...??!!!???Nothing bad to say about this show.. wacky and smart. Only complaint is ITunes being so late in making available new episodes... its on the verge of being totally ridiculous..! So much better than Family GuyI don't care what Family Guy fanboys say, American Dad is SUCH a better show overall. I don't get why so many people hate it. Is it becuase there's not enough random moments? Not enough flashbacks? Seth actually puts plot into this show. After Family Guy got cancelled, it seems Seth put good plots and jokes into American Dad and just throws random junk into Family Guy. Seriously, American Dad is so much better..Score: 5/5

Seth MacFarlane knows how to push the envelope.If you like odd charcters, odd situations and a touch of scocial commentary, this is your guy. you may also enjoy Family Guy and most recently The Cleaveland Show (his best work ever) all just tikle my funny bone in a big way. Some of it can be pretty far out in left field, but I just love to laugh and this is my "must see TV!.Score: 5/5

If this is HD, where is the rest of the pictureHD with black bars at the sides still. What is the point in using HD format if your still going to be in the old screen ratio?
