Några studenter har skapat en drog som dödar brukaren en kort tid så denne kan träffa sina nära som dött. Clark råkar få i sig en dos och eftersom den innehåller grön kryptonit dör Clark, men med hjälp av den nyligen avlidna Jonathan Kent kommer Clark tillbaka till livet. General Zod återvänder från Spökzonen och tar över Lex Luthors kropp, och Clark hamnar själv i Spökzonen.
