Still one of the best shows out there, but...I have been watching Dexter since season 1, and each season is impeccable in it's writing, story lines, character development, acting and so forth. Oh, music too.*** Spoiler alerts coming, so beware.*** Julia Stiles really does a great job with this character and the relationship with Dexter is built up to well. All I'm wondering is, why so many holes in the plot? My goodness. Maybe I've watched too many Criminal Minds, but there are so many sinkholes here I had to bring it up. For instance. Boyd Fowler is pinned with the murders, but nobody looks for him, they simply close the case! Lumen's first victim calls one of the other perps on her phone and she and Dexter never trace the call. Also, nobody checks the hose they cleaned the crime scene with for fingerprints. When Liddy meets his maker, nobody checks the body or the van for DNA? And why don't we get to find out why they left Emily alive, and why didn't she turn them in? Now the biggest one, which really amazed me: Debra is driving to the final crime scene and simply drives right by the overturned car which still carries Dexters blood kit? I doubt it. So. Still intriguing and amazing, but with so many crime scene investigation shows out there, writers need to allow for a more intelligent audience..Score: 5/5

Good story arc, weak writing.Of the 5 seasons of Dexter so far the story for this season was fairly compelling. Love, loyalty, brutality, redemption, and revenge are all present in this season's story. The acting on the season is all over the place. The child actor's playing Dexter's step children start out the season terrible, but the daughter's acting improves remarkably by the end of the season. Julie Stiles and Peter Weller have performances that range from great to mediocre through out the season. Which I think may actually be a result of bad writing or direction. It is ok though because these lapses are temporary glitches that are often paved over quickly by the scenes that follow..Score: 4/5

No say!?!?Seriously, you really think the largest company for movie and tv show on demand (iTunes) has no say at all? Hahaha. The same networks have shows on iTunes while they are airing so guess again. Personally since they are waiting I'm gonna just buy it on blueray at the same time so I don't have to deal with "network connection" issues. The only reason to get shows on iTunes rather than blueray is to get them sooner..Score: 5/5

The weakest season so farAnyone who knows me will know I love Dexter to bits, hey I'm even gonna name my son after him (if I have one) but after the brilliant season 4, it hurts me to say this series is disappointing. It starts right where season 4 ended and is really good to begin with but then it becomes really weak until the last two episodes. Don't get me wrong if you love Dexter you will still enjoy the show but I think because of the excellent season 4 it just lacks the scariness and thrills of previous serial killers..Score: 3/5
