Paying for NewsI know we've all got somewhat used to getting a lot of content for free in recent years, but the sense of spoiled entitlement I see in the reviews here is quite breathtaking. Apparently it's now an outrage that a for-profit company doesn't give away its products for free. This will come as a shock to some of you, but it actually costs CNN money to report the news. When you watch it on TV it's not free either; you pay your cable provider who, in turn, pays CNN for the channel. Like all economic transactions, this involves a choice as to whether the cost is worth the benefit. It's up to you to decide how to spend your money, but I'm not sure under what theory you, or I, have some right to free cable news. As an aside, PBS and NPR are far superior and don't charge for content.
