Best Doctor Who Christmas SpecialThis is by far the best Christmas Special ever!!! It has all the elements, sadness, romance, drama, and comedy..Score: 5/5
A Mother's StrengthThis Doctor Who episode definitely shined brightly for the holidays. The plot took turns that were not unexpected but highly provocative of thought. If I were to give this a rating it would be higher than the five star iTunes allows not only for the acting and story, but the fact and myth behind it. The idea of a living forest and whispering trees takes you back to many story tales like The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, as it is supposed to but also the the times of your childhood when things were unexplained. The child-like quality Christmas is all about. Wonderful episode and I am looking forward to the 50th anniversary season of 2012! Have a good New Year. -MKIA.Score: 5/5
I like Christmas, Christmas is cool!Matt Smith just has the captivating innocence that the Past two 'new' doctors have lacked, in this episode it is not only made evident, it is shown through "happy tears" and the just care the Doctor portrays throughout the episode. Nothing too twisty ( a little un Moffat to me) but still phenomenal! Has a wonderful lead up to the next season (50th anniversary! wooh) and over all was an amazing Christmas special! Heart Warming for the SeasonBack to the Second World War (but thank Goodness, not with the "are you my mummy" creepiness.) A terrific Christmas Tree (a benign one for once!) The Doctor this time is trying to give one family the best Christmas ever. Of course, being the Doctor, it all goes drastically wrong, but works out in the end. Not sure about the ending for the family, a bit overdone, but ideal for the time of the year. Not really Narnian, I think the BEEB was just having fun with the title! As good as last year's? A great story, but concern for any future Christmas specials...This episode felt rushed at some parts, but I get that it was more the idea that was being expressed rather than the "Hollywood"-moments that North American TV shows have. This was a great standalone episode and a smart tie-in to the Amy/Rory arc. My only concern for future Christmas specials: next Christmas, would it be possible to create a unique Christmas special that doesn't 'borrow' from other holiday classics? (i.e. A Christmas Carol). It's cute once, pushing it twice, but a third would just be going overboard….).Score: 4/5
Not Bad, Not FantasticI found all the other Doctor Who Christmas Specials better unfortunately. Not to say that this isn't worth seeing. There were so memorable moments, and the end was very touching. This Special though felt a bit lacking emotionally though..Score: 3/5
Almost perfect. It has everything you need in a DW Christmas special, including lots of "Humany wumany happy tears". Extremely well written even though it didn't have much to do with "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" the book which it was named after. The only reason I say "Almost perfect" is last year's Christmas special with Michael Gambon was absolutely mind blowing, I think most can agree! I kind of feel the same way about the series 6 finale, I think that becasue season 5, the first season with Matt was so spectacular, it might have been a little hard to top in series 6, but for the most part, series 6 was very, very excellent!.Score: 5/5

It's got heartI can't think of a series that produces Christmas specials that have heart. Dr Who does just that. The camera work in this is excellent. It has some beautiful visuals and lovely human characters, characters I always find myself caring about. There are moments in Dr Who that always make me think "wouldn't it be grand?" The more I think about this episode the more I think that Moffat has managed to reinvent the Myth of Christmas and bring it together fuse it with Santa Claus. True Doctor Who episode, a mad man in a box....with real snow this timeI really enjoyed this episode as it was a typical DW story line of old, the Doctor appears and find someone needing help and tries to pick up the pieces then everything goes totally pear shaped and at the end, he pulls a rabbit out of his Fez and saves the day..... For Xmas. Matt Smith was his usual awesome self but what I found strange was to see Clair Skinner's name as the co-star instead of Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill at the beginning credits but typical Steven Moffat's pen, nice twist at the end! (sorry, no spoilers). (please stay Karen and Arthur!!!!!!!!) I admit, the storyline was fairy tailish similar as last year and I guess it was predictable but for Xmas, ideal, helping others, bringing Xmas joy and a make believe fairy tail storyline.
