Charmed (Classic), Season 7 Release Date and Synopsis

Picking up where season six ended, the seventh season begins with the sisters questioning themselves after Gideon's betrayal. Phoebe is such an emotional wreck that her boss lets her take a break and hires a ghost writer--a man with whom she takes awhile to warm up to but eventually develops feelings for. Paige becomes headmistress of Magic School after fighting to keep it open and starts a relationship with Agent Kyle Brody. Phoebe becomes close to a demon named Drake who wants to repent and lead a good life. Piper is forced to take care of Leo, who was also deeply effected by Gideon's attack, while raising her new son, Chris. Leo also confesses that he is one of the Avatars, magical beings who dream of creating a utopia on Earth. Finally, darkness surrounds the sisters in the form Zankou, a demon who had been locked away by The Source. In the season finale, Zankou hatches a plan to absorb all of the sisters' powers. When they realize what Zankou is up to, they are faced with a life-altering decision: sacrifice their powers or their lives.

Piper deals with trying to balance raising her two young sons with Leo and run P3, Phoebe takes over as the advice columnist at the Bay Mirror and meets the man she envisions herself marrying. Paige, meanwhile, cannot ignore the whitelighter in her, answers the call of a young witch named Billie, whose raw talents and sassy attitude will become a tremendous asset in the fight against evil. In working with Billie to hone her skills and teach her the importance of what they do, the sisters realize how much they miss magic and how they can have normal lives and still fight evil. As the three most powerful good witches magic has to offer, the Halliwell sisters continue to wage war against evil as they seek to strengthen their sisterly bond and get closer to fulfilling their destiny.

Shortly after, the sisters come up against a demon named Rodriguez, an Internal Affairs officer at SFPD who learns of their powers after eavesdropping on one of Andy's conversations. In the season finale, after repeated, unsuccessful attempts at trying to get to the "Charmed Ones," Rodriguez is aided by time sorcerer Tempus Fugit, who traps the Halliwells in a time loop.

As Cole/Belthazor moves his way into The Charmed Ones' lives, he becomes conflicted between his duty toward The Triad and his love for Phoebe. Prue never trusted Cole from the beginning which drives a wedge between her and her youngest sister. The Charmed Ones develop a better relationship with their father and grow to understand their powers better, as they learn of The Triad who are responsible for sending Belthazor and other demons after them.

Season 4 brings big changes in the lives of the Halliwell sisters. As they face the loss of a sister, season 4 brings the arrival of Paige Matthews - half sister to the Halliwells. They focus on destroying The Source once and for all. Phoebe and Cole go through many difficulties in their relationship. The Charmed Ones must also deal with the new positions they find themselves in; Paige goes from being an only child to accepting her new role as a Charmed One, Piper must deal with becoming the oldest sister and head witch giving her more responsibility, and Phoebe now becomes the middle sister and must mediate between her two sisters, as well as starting her first full-time job as an advice columnist. Cole continues to fight the evil inside him, only this time it is The Source. Although he plans to rebuild the underworld and destroy The Charmed Ones, he still wants to convert Phoebe and have her rule by his side as his Queen. We are also introduced to The Seer who has an evil agenda of her own.

Season 5 ties up loose ends and brings in new characters. Piper deals with being a Charmed One while being pregnant. We also begin to see problems in her marriage to Leo. Phoebe is finally able to let go of Cole emotionally, despite his re-appearance and near constant tries to win her back. Her career as a columnist flourishes and she becomes a local celebrity. While there she meets Jason Dean, the new editor, and begins a romance with him. Paige really grows into her role as a Charmed One and decides to give up her job to focus on a life of magic. She also learns to accept her Whitelighter side and develops a new relationship with her biological father Sam who is also a Whitelighter. As Piper, Phoebe and Paige continue to wage war against all evil, they seek to strengthen their sisterly bond as they get closer to fulfilling their destiny.

The sixth season focuses on new characters as well as The Charmed Ones. Leo leaves on a quest making life hard for Piper as a single mother to Wyatt. He returns occasionally and is extremely suspicious of Chris, who has become the sister's new Whitelighter, and whom they have grown to trust. Chris travels back in time and we learn about his true connection to the Halliwells. Phoebe gains the power of empathy allowing her to feel the emotions of others, and with this ability she can tap into the powers of other magical beings. Her relationship with Jason becomes more serious as they decide to live together. Paige begins taking different temp jobs to create a life separate from magic but finds this difficult when each job leaves her in a supernatural situation. Through this she meets Richard Montana, a witch who has given up using his powers. Magic School is also introduced as a place where the future generation of witches and Whitelighters are trained in their powers and it becomes a permanent location for the sisters to go for protection and information. Here they meet Gideon, the head teacher and a Whitelighter. As the season progresses it becomes clear that Gideon has become twisted in his belief of protecting the 'greater good' and in doing some unknowingly changes the future drastically.

The final season of the series begins where season seven ended, with the sisters having to live under false identities to be free of demons. Each sister remains unhappy and eventually decides to return to their Charmed lives. Paige, however, begins helping a young witch named Billie, who eventually discovers the sisters' magical secrets but agrees to keep them under wraps in exchange for witchcraft training. The sisters also help Billie search for her sister Christy, whom she thinks was abducted by a demon years before. In the sisters' love lives, Paige begins dating Henry Mitchell, Phoebe is sent a Cupid to help her find love and Piper and Leo have marital problems as he adjusts to his new life as a human. Once Billie reunites with Christy at the end of the season, it is apparent that Christy has been brainwashed into thinking the sisters are evil and convinces Billie of the same. They set out to tarnish the Halliwells' reputation, forcing the sisters to get stuck in the underworld. In the series finale, Piper and Leo travel back in time to prevent the destruction of Piper's sisters and of the manor.
