Doctor Who, Season 7, Pt. 1 Synopsis

Kidnapped by his oldest foe, the Doctor is forced on an impossible mission - to a place even the Daleks are too terrified to enter... the Asylum. A planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of their kind, the Doctor and the Ponds must find an escape route. But with Amy and Rory’s relationship in meltdown, and an army of mad Daleks closing in, it is up to the Doctor to save their lives, as well as the Pond’s marriage.
An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction - unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo... of dinosaurs! By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers; a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else onboard who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.
The Doctor gets a Stetson (and a gun!), and finds himself the reluctant Sheriff of a Western town under siege by a relentless cyborg, who goes by the name of the Gunslinger. But who is he and what does he want? The answer seems to lie with the mysterious, Kahler-Jex, an alien doctor (yes another one!) whose initial appearance is hiding a dark secret.
The Doctor and the Ponds puzzle an unlikely invasion of Earth, as millions of sinister black cubes arrive overnight, almost like presents falling from the sky. But what are they, what’s inside them and most importantly, who sent them? With the international community at a loss, it’s left to the Doctor to unearth who is behind the mystery.
The Doctor’s heart-breaking farewell to Amy and Rory – a race against time through the streets of Manhattan, as New York’s statues come to life around them… With Rory’s life in danger, the Doctor and Amy must locate him before it’s too late! Luckily, an old friend helps them and guides the way.
When the Doctor receives a mysterious call from Clara, the woman that he's been seeking since he has seen her die twice, he arrives in 21st century Earth and discovers that something is using wi-fi to download human minds into the Internet... and feed on them.
Clara wants to see something awesome, so the Doctor whisks her off to the inhabited rings of the planet Akhaten, where the Festival of Offerings is in full swing. Clara meets the young Queen of Years as the pilgrims and natives ready for the ceremony. But something is stirring in the pyramid, and a sacrifice will be demanded.
The Doctor and Clara land on a damaged Russian submarine in 1983 as it spirals out of control into the ocean depths. An alien creature is loose on board, having escaped from a block of Arctic ice. With tempers flaring and a cargo of nuclear weapons on board, it’s not just the crew but the whole of humanity at stake!
Clara and the Doctor arrive at Caliburn House, a haunted mansion sat alone on a desolate moor. Within its walls, a ghost hunting Professor and a gifted psychic are searching for the Witch of the Well. Her apparition appears throughout the history of the building, but is she really a ghost? And what is chasing her?
When a salvage ship attempts to pull the TARDIS aboard when the time vessel's shields are down, an explosion occurs. The Doctor forces the salvage crew to help him find Clara, who is lost somewhere inside his vessel.
Something ghastly is afoot in Victorian Yorkshire, as bodies are found with their skin a waxy, glowing red.
Hedgewick's World of Wonders: the perfect theme park day out - and ground zero for a deadly silver resurrection.
Someone is kidnapping the Doctor's friends, leading him towards the one place in all of time and space that he should never go.

- Great show. Lowsy format.5 star

Bought access to the series as it was showing. The part I didn't happen until I bought access. Dirty pool.

- Doc who....4 star

I love the show. Of course seasons 2-4 are my favorite, some episodes were cheesy lol but whatever, great story line regardless. David Tennant in my opinion was the best Doctor. He brought so much character and personality to the show, I truly believe he was meant to play that role. I miss him something awful, but the show must go on and each Doctor is special in his own way.

- HD or SD?2 star

I downloaded both an SD episode and an HD episode, and I must say, it is a lesser of two evils. With the SD episode, it was considerably blurry. With the HD episode, I was watching it on my computer, and I had to pause it every few minutes so the video and the audio could sync-making a 45 minute episode take an hour and ten minutes, and making the experience stressful instead of enjoyable. If I buy anything again, I'm buying it in SD to save money, time, and stress. I love the show, but this experience was awful.

They say u never do forget your first doctor and thy are right mine was DAVID TENNAT and by god after watching one episode I was hooked found the rest of the seasons on Netflix and was baffled and surprised and didn't know how to react and what to expect but that is a good thing especially in doctor who .. Oh yeah they say kids never learn anything from TV shows but I passed my history test by watching doctor who and every show has a theme to history if u watch real close like James Bond and every now and then spongebob ha ... - My Entire Life5 star

I have been watching Doctor Who my entire life. I grew up on the show and I have no regrets. I'm completely in love with all of the characters, including all of the Doctor's regenerations. It's such an amazing show and if you're not watching it, you are missing out on some incredible things.

- Spoilers5 star

I won't say much cause River told me not to Great show I love the characters and such but DON'T start with this season go to the first of this new series (The Ninth Doctor) and start from there, you'll be glad you did! Again I'm not saying much be cause of spoilers

- Alright...3 star

I used to love this show. Now I just watch it for fun, but I don't think the past two seasons have been very good at all. They seem to be amping up the ridiculousness and reducing the adventure/originality. Granted the Doctor's ridiculous demeanor has always been a part of the show, but now it, along with ridiculous situations, seem to be the sole focus of the show.

- Not one bad episode, the whole season.5 star

Every issue with season six is gone and then some with season 6.

- Best ever5 star

The show is sooo amazing!!!! Matt smith isn't quite as good as the past two doctors, but is still brilliant. This isn't the best season, but it is still better than almost any other show EVER!!!! Companions are good, nothing special, but better than nothing. Buy now !!!!

- The First Question? (Doctor Who?)5 star

Does anyone know if I purchase this now do I have to repurchase the next few eposides when they come out? Or, is it all inclusive as one price for the whole season? Not that I would mind or anything...I am just saying I don't want to purchase then repurchase as they come one at a time sort of thing.

- Doctor5 star

Best show ever made!!

- Completely Unique5 star

This is by far the best show I have ever seen. Matt Smith playing the Doctor is a great choice, he has such a funny personality. I love Doctor Who because there just is not another show like it. Besides, now I know why I have four tick marks on my arm... Hey, when did I get here? Did I write this review? Hmm...

- Disappointing season2 star

Overall I have enjoyed the new Doctor Who series, but this season is rather unremarkable. Stale plots and a lack of creativity. Rather that using logic and reason to think his way out of a situation, the Doctor runs around dazed and confused only to have his "eureka" moment and save the day with some random piece of tech that was created specifically to solve the problem they are faced with that week. Several plots seem to have spun out of control of the writers. Dues Ex Machina is a term that describes the sudden, contrived resolution of an impossible scenario or problem by a previously unseen or unknown person, event or ability. That's how I feel about this season of Doctor Who. He doesn't think anymore, just pulls out the sonic screwdriver and sets is to... "ah, yes, there is a setting for teleportation out of the midst of rampaging daleks... it also can be set to brew coffee..."

ajewood - Epic series, but a question for answering.5 star

I wonder if England honors the battle of canary wharf? I know that was a while back but its still a prevalent question. They should make a statue or something for the Doctor. Make it a TARDIS and paint it the most brilliant blue in the world. That would make my day if I were to see that... But I probably would make myself look like a fool when I run at it as fast as I can exclaiming "take me with you!" I've seen every Doctor Who episode, movie, book, comic, you name it, I've seen it. I love this series. A lot of my friends at school and work have been watching the series and come to me with questions all the time. I know almost every answer to them because I can't stop watching the Doctor. If you want my opinion, and your into Timie wimie space stuff, this is the show for you.

Stump You - Um....5 star

I bought the season pass back in August, why is it now saying that I haven't purchased the season? I'd like to download what I've already purchased to my computer without having to pay for it again... But nonetheless, this is by far my favorite TV show of all time, and this season is nothing short of incredible.

I would give this show six stars if I could. It'll make you laugh one moment, break your heart the next. This is the only show I've ever bothered to buy on iTunes instead of waiting for it to come to Netflix. It has turned me into a raving Whonatic. Season 7 is no different so far.

Great tv show for all ages

JacobKragoff - True Who5 star

Doctor Who was in trouble near the end of Tennant's reign. Even though I love David Tennant, RTD was indeed a dull and repetitive author who cannot match Stephen Moffat's work. While these stories are not the greatest in Who history, and I have seen better Moffat tales, they are top notch compared to RTD and have variety and depth. Matt, Karen, and Arthur all deliver their best performances and the new actors have done an excellent job at fitting in, especially the brand new companion! I highly suggest these stories to anyone who enjoys action, adventure, surprises, emotion, and special effects.

tinyapplebear - Amazing As Always5 star

DW is so far this season, as amazing as always. I was very sad to see Amy and Rory go as they are some of my favorite companions. (Especially among the 'new' seasons) I'm excited to see what else this season will bring -- and of course the Christmas Special.

Fate:Tea - Can it get anymore ridiculous?5 star

I swear each season adds crazier situations and more amazing background characters. I really feel like this season is doing well to get you to like just about everyone, except of course for space pirates. Definitely worth the purchase. Who can honestly pass up dinosaurs in space?

ANONYMOUS#Awesome - Doctor who rocks my socks!5 star

I remember first watching doctor who w/ my dad, and instantly becoming hooked. I have been an avid Whovian since! I love all the doctors that I have witnessed so far (9,10,11). The plot and show schemes, needless to say, leave me at a loss for words. It has me jumping up and down one moment, and crying like crazy the next. I'll be laughing one minute, and contemplating the doctor's deep words of wisdom without a second's notice. The show always is able to imagine something fresh with each new doctor, season, and companion, but it never loses sight of its rich past, and history. It is so ALIEN; there is nothing else like it out there. I'll support it until its final goodbye, which I hope won't happen in my lifetime!

Cooliom2k - Cool!!!5 star

DW is the best show I have ever seen and even have a favorite quote

momsterpig - Dr. Who Season 74 star

Ok, I must admit Season 6 was better. I had rewatch the Dino one and I like better. Asylum of the Daleks was a favorite and yes the Angel episode was very good but so sad.

Treehugerdetective - DON'T BLINK5 star

QUICKLY TURN AROUND AND WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T BLINK!

scorcher14x - Another Half Season?4 star

I have to admit I'm getting tired of these half seasons followed by a break. I thought last year was a one off, but here we go again. The shows are good fun as always, but the pace has quickened so much that it's hard to follow. I went back to season 1 (2005) after watching The Angels Take Manhattan and really appreciated the slower pace and character development in the older shows. Now it's bam, bam, bam, with not more than a couple of seconds to grasp the context of the scene before some jarring change to something completely different. Still enjoyable, but I want to get deeper into the stories.

Mrs.Heathcliff - I still haven't recieved "Pond Life" or "The Angels Take Manhattan"5 star

Can someone from iTunes please help me out ? Why haven't the episodes shown up on my Available Downloads or on my iPad ?! Since Updating to IOS 6 I've been having problems and the support obviously doesn't read my emails but replies with some kind of Auto response ! I've been a very satisfied customer until NOW ! I need to see the finale !

Luristoplier - End of the ponds5 star

I love the doctor who series, but I don't see how Rory can die if age if he is a centurion, making the whole basis for The Angels Take Manhattan false and so the ponds should still be with the doctor because Rory didn't die in that room, and he didn't age the second time he got sent back.

Kira200037 - dw or die5 star

its simple. watch Doctor Who or die.Trust me,its amazing

Bushster - A Bittersweet Hatchet Job5 star

I have been a Whovian for more than 20 years. Have always loved it. Still do. But I find the recent shift to shorter and shorter seasons disappointing. It might be OK to replace companions every couple of years if there were more espisodes, but as it is we barely have time to get to know them and they are gone. I will miss Amy and Roy, especially Amy because the chemistry between her and the Doctor was something special. It was a mistake in my view to remove them after so few episodes. If they had to go, I don't mind the way it was done. It was bittersweet. But if I didn't love the series so much I would dock it a few stars for the hatchet job. Couldn't bring myself to do it though.

soulstealer82 - great season so far5 star

Couldn't get iTunes on iPad to update for new episodes. Very frustrating. Show is great, just wish I could watch it...

PondAmyPond - Love the Doctor but disappointed so far...4 star

I've been a fan of the Doctor since David Tennant drew me in several years ago. When it was announced that he was leaving the show I seriously wondered if I would lose interest in it altogether, but Matt Smith has been wonderful as the 11th Doctor! Seasons 5 and 6 included some of my favorite stories and episodes and Amy Pond has been a remarkable companion. That said, I have been disappointed so far with season 7. In my opinion it has been okay but not up to the level of recent seasons.

Sideshow Bobby - Best season ever5 star

This season is unlike the others. Every episode is a self contained story with one underlying story arch which is Amy and Rory are leaving. The episode titled the power of 3 best hits are the core of each character then any other episode.

sXio - Power of Three!5 star

The Episode: slow invasion is steadily increasing people interest and is the episode of thus new season that really shows what makes people (especially me!) love Doctor Who!

JKMarshal - Weak Season1 star

Yes.. The season is fairly weak. The first time round was rather good, however after splitting Season 6 into 2 parts, and now this.. The episodes lack emotion. They lack excitement. There is a lot of charisma but they are unidirectional and very predictable story lines. It seems like the show is carrying a lot of baggage.

Ronstoppable13 - Doctor Who rocks!5 star

Doctor Who is one of the best sci-fi shows on TV. So far, Season 7 of Doctor Who is very strong. It's written well, filmed well, and has terrific special effects. Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill deliver great acting performances in each episode. In fact, many great actors have appeared in Doctor Who. Doctor Who is so many things. It can be quirky, silly, serious, scary, romantic, and exciting. But most of all, it's entertaining.

Kramertheassman - Where's the love for the Daleks?5 star

How can Asylum of the Daleks have such a low popularity? It was probably the best opener for any season of Doctor Who!
