How I Met Your Mother is back for a hilarious eighth season and continues with the story of how Ted fell in love. It all started when Ted's best friend, aspiring environmental lawyer Marshall, proposed to his college sweetheart, Lily, a kindergarten teacher. Now that the two have had a baby, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on it if he too hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest to find his future wife is Barney, a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin, he's sure it's love at first sight, but after a whirlwind romance with her, he realizes destiny has something else in store for him. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.

HIMYM is legen -wait for it - dary! Legendary!For some unexplainable reason it took for the show to be on for a few seasons before I really got into it. I have no idea why. The cast is amazing, it's well written, directed, acted, has solid guest stars. No weak points, always keeps you wanting more. How can you possibly lose with Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, and NPH himself? The whole cast is AWESOME! This is one of the few truly funny sitcoms on televison. Much credit goes to the cast from Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, and the aforementioned Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, and Neil Patrick Harris (not to mention the excellent flashback voiceover work by Bob Saget). Legen - wait for it - dary cast from top to bottom. So what are you waiting for? Suit up and start grabbing some season passes. There is at least an 83% chance you'll thank me later. Good, the bad, the brosThis season overall is more entertaining than most of the other shows on tv, but it is straying away from the main point of the show. The first season followed Ted as he searches for his soul mate m, whereas season eight shows Ted and the gang having fun and goofy adventures. There seems to be a lack of inspiration or creativity with the writing staff this season. The jokes aren't as funny, and seemed to be forced into the storyline rather than having the jokes being delivered in a smooth, and clever manner. It is indeed bittersweet to see this show go after next season, but it is necessary after what has been demonstrated as a downhill snowball effect, in season eight.Score: 4/5
