Growing up isn't so tough — especially with a friend like Caillou (pronounced KY-YOO), a lovable four-year-old who has a unique way of relating to the world. Based on a series of best-selling Canadian children’s books, Caillou demonstrates how the first experiences of life, from going to the park to understanding one's own family, can be perceived with wonder and a sense of discovery. With humor, kid logic, and imagination, Caillou helps preschoolers make sense of the world. The stories address real problems and conflicts typical to a young child's development. Through it all, Caillou remains an irresistible little boy in a very big world, a boy with whom every young child and parent can identify.
This show is about the life of a young bald boy named Caillou, his family and his friends. It is based on the books by Christine L'Heureux and Helene Despeteaux, which is highly popular in the Quebec area in Canada. There are actually two versions of the show. The first version premiered in late 1997, is only 5 minutes in length, consists of 65 episodes, and is fully animated. The plot line of this version is that a grandmother reads her grandchildren a Caillou book. While this version enjoys success in some countries outside the US, it was never formally aired in the US. The second version, which premiered in late 2000, has the show extended to 30 minutes, and has puppets, music and live action segments thrown in. CaillouI have never seen this season of Caillou, but I really like the newer seasons better. But I really want to check out this season of Caillou. I hope kids can still learn from this show, even though Caillou can be a little whiny and bratty. I still think this show can still teach a good lesson to kids. Parents are saying on other reviews that Caillou is always whiny and bratty, and their kids almost start acting like him each time. But I disagree, Caillou is mostly in a good mood, and is not always in a whiny and bratty mood. Moms and dads, please give Caillou a chance, it might teach a good lesson to your kids!.Score: 4/5

It's not your place to judge calliou negatively if your kid likes it support them. Calliou is my fav show and everybody loves it even you just admit it.
