Hidden between the lines of the history books is the story of Mary Stuart, the young woman the world would come to know as Mary, Queen of Scots. Arriving in France with four close friends as her ladies-in-waiting, Mary has been sent to secure Scotland's strategic alliance by formalizing her arranged engagement to the French king's dashing son, Prince Francis. But the match isn't signed and sealed, it depends more on politics, religion and secret agendas than affairs of the heart. Prince Francis is intrigued by the fiery Scot, but like most young men, he resists the idea of settling down into marriage, especially when he has a history with a lady of the court and his own point of view on the wisdom of an alliance with Scotland. Still, an attraction between Mary and Francis is ignited.

Amazing........I did not reach the mid-point of the show and already i am loving it. The sad part is i dont know when the next season is going to come out. At any rate i can watch this all day without ever getting tired of it. i love the plot, the characters and every single thing of it. i am eagerly waiting for the next seasons. Great historical show!I am really excited to see the twists and turns in the lives of these royals as they find love, get into danger, and fight for what is right. One of my favorite shows right now alongside Star-Crossed, which is just as good and exciting in the opposite timeline. It's a modern day show set a little into the future, with deep meaning in the storyline and its characters as they deal with integration between two races along with amazing romance, action and also fighting for what is right. If you like Reign then you would also like Star-Crossed. I hope to see both these shows have many seasons as they are the best out there on tv with actual meaningful content and extremely likable characters! The lead females, Mary and Emery, are both quite similar in that they are strong-willed fighters with kind hearts and stuck in love triangles with extremely handsome and noble men, who are trying to fight for what is right, make their own mark in history for their people and ultimately win the girl he's meant to be with. Just truly amazing shows this year CW!.Score: 5/5

2nd half of the season went downhillI loved the first half of the season, but the second half went downhill fast. I wish I could get my money back. Writing went way down and a lot of stuff was added for shock value. Very disappointing. A good show before, but now I would not recommend at all..Score: 2/5
