In the shocking season four finale, Elena (Nina Dobrev) forced the cure to vampirism down the throat of her doppelganger, Katherine Pierce (also played by Dobrev), effectively turning her back into a human. Elena, free of her sire bond to Damon (Ian Somerhalder), professes her true love to him with no strings attached … as her first love in Mystic Falls, Stefan (Paul Wesley), listened in the next room. Stefan’s plans for the immortal Silas took an unexpected turn when Silas reappeared in his true form — as Stefan’s doppelganger — stabbing the real Stefan in the stomach and throwing him into the quarry to suffer for eternity. The hit series enters its fifth season with some characters headed off to college, Katherine trying to survive as a human and a shocking Salvatore secret.

AVOID SERIES PASS!!!!I had been given iTunes vouchers for my 30th birthday (which I asked for..) I went straight onto iTunes & paid for the VD/5 series pass. What an absolute joke. I wish I had read these reviews first. But being iTunes you expect the best, so I didn't think I needed to. Not only can I hardly watch an episode in it's entirety I too agree you are better off waiting for ITV to air the shows. You will NOT benefit in anyway of a series pass as it is a rip off.
