Joss Whedon, the creative genius behind the feature film "Marvel's The Avengers," one of the highest grossing films of all time, and the iconic television series "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," has co-created Marvel's first television series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," a dynamic, action-packed one-hour drama that brings back Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) to lead a team of highly skilled agents to investigate extra-normal and super human people and events worldwide. The series begins where the "Marvel's The Avengers" left off. It's just after the battle of New York, and now that the existence of super heroes and aliens has become public knowledge, the world is trying to come to grips with this new reality. Agent Phil Coulson is back in action and now has his eye on a mysterious group called The Rising Tide. In order to track this unseen, unknown enemy, he has assembled a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). The S.H.I.E.L.D. team has a mission: To investigate the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson's team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Shaky First Season that Sticks the Landing!Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may very well be my favourite TV show of all time. The first season is not flawless, but it does a great job establishing the characters and having fun. The pilot is great, and a few hidden gems keep the team's adventures enjoyable FZZT is a standout in the first half, while Repairs through T.A.H.I.T.I. weave a compelling, action-packed mystery. The show really hits the gas with episode 16, End of the Beginning. If you've seen Captain America: the Winter Soldier, you'll know why. I'd recommend this show to avid MCU fans and to people who've never seen a Marvel film. As the series continues, it grows more and more independent of the feature films and learns to stand alone as amazing television!.Score: 4/5
Binge Watching Is The Way To Go (Spoilers)Agents Of SHIELD started off…with a pretty awful Pilot for me. It had a lot of issues that…idk, maybe more time, less people working on it, or Joss Whedon not stressed out over Age Of Ultron would’ve helped. I’ll never know what could be done. But I hung on because I’m a big fan of the MCU and I wanted to see how this show would develop. That was one of the smartest choices I’ve made. A lot of gushing & hype are centered around ep. 17, Turn Turn Turn, and rightly so. It engages with the plot of The Winter Soldier and gives us more fallout over the Fall of SHIELD. It really steps up the stakes and writing/acting from everyone with this bombshell. But in looking back and rewatching the whole show in one large go, I’ve found that one of the best things is how early eps set up things we didn’t realize it was setting up at the time. And not just for this season, but also stuff that’s happening in Season Three. There is an arc that isn’t apparent watching these early eps one at a time per week, but binge watching does let us see the thread that lead to some great reveals like in ep.10, The Bridge. Why do I mention this? Because a lot of people I talk to online say the best or only good parts of AOS is the last few eps. And I disagree, the early ones have some wonderful moments and do impact how the bombshells at the end of the season come across. Something that just watching The Pilot and/or The Winter Soldier and then ep.17 won’t give you. Which all in all makes this a great show and takes us into a fantastic and wonderful Season Two!.Score: 4/5
