- apple stole my money AGAIN1 star

paid for the episode, downloaded but no matter what I do I just get an hour of black screen, no sound or picture. I'm glad apple is doing so well financially that they have to rip off their customers.

- Honestly... Meh3 star

I'm a big fan of Doctor Who and have quite enjoyed the Matt Smith arc. That being said I thought this episode dragged on and on and on. Don't get me wrong it was entertaining and would have made an alright normal episode, but to be the last episode for our beloved Mr. Smith? Could have been better. In a sense this pulled a Bioshock: Infinite with the beginning and end being good (though I thought the end could have gone differently as well) but the middle lacking. I don't want to give away the episode so I shall be somewhat vague. The beginning has all the suspense and excitement expected of a special, with all the great races making an appearance, and the banter between Clara and The Doctor being humorous. But then the middle when he is in the town and all of the narration and time is passing just drags. At some point it really just becomes a "I get it already, please move on now" situation. There is admittedly a bit of nice dialogue between Clara and The Doctor, but it is short and sweet. Then we get to the second part of the middle and the excitement picks up for a bit, but then after a bit again it drops back down leading into the end. We get more narration and a bit of a drag again, with a feeling of "I feel as though I have already been through this, in this episode actually!" Now finally it comes to the end and we all know what this episode is for so there is no spoiler in saying here we see the end/death of the 11th (by name only) Doctor. This is done well and of course seeing Mr. Smith go is saddening, but with of the issues the middle of the episode had I ended up actually more so feeling pure relief that it is finally over, and this is not what should be for such a sad moment. Now as for the well known issue of The Doctor's regeneration cycle coming to an end, it was expected for there to be something that happens which allows him to keep living (as the show is not being cancelled). As to how this is done, without giving away any spoilers, I understand why it was done in such a way and I get how it is meaningful. The problem is I felt that it was easy, and I don't mean that there should have been a bigger ordeal for it to happen. No that was pretty well established throughout the episode. I just felt that from a writing stand point it was easy, it just seemed forced and with out the proper "substance" (for lack of a better word) to really give it that "wow" factor. With all of this being said, the episode was good and should be respected for it's part in saying goodbye to Matt Smith. I just felt the middle could have used some tweaking and the ending could have had (again for a lack of a better word) "more."

- The episode is epic, but BBC’s organization couldn’t be worse4 star

As a new Doctor Who fan that recently started watching the series from the Chris Eccleston’s portrayal as the Doctor, I have to say that there couldn’t be a better episode, along with Day of the Doctor, to cap off the experience. What a tremendous payoff this is! However, it reflects poorly on BBC’s hodgepodge presentation of various Doctor Who bundles that neither this set nor the 50th Anniversary set has a season associated with it, leaving them to confusingly mix together. Surely there must be a better way to organize these two sets than to leave them as “No Season” titles? It’s left my Doctor Who collection a terrible mess. If not for this, it would definitely have gotten five stars.

- SERIES 8 SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!5 star

Peter Capaldi is not the Doctor! He is the Master! Samuel Anderson is playing a chameleon arched version of the Doctor!

- I feel jipped. Not worth it.1 star

We already had seen the ones with David Tennant. The other ones are fluff. We should of just paid $3.00 for the ONE episoide that was good

- Great adventure5 star

Awesome, just way, way good.

- I love it!5 star

Thank you, Matt, for a wonderful tenure as the Doctor. You were the coolest!

- Good farewell to the Eleventh4 star

First off: A majority of the negative reviews are reflecting upon the poor marketing that went into the Season Pass. "The End of Time" episodes were included in the Pass, and since many already owned them, they felt cheated, along with the fact the Christmas episode was released on iTunes the morning after it aired. However, if the purchasers who left poor reviews read what was included and understood that the episodes are not released till the morning after, there would be fewer poor reviews. That being said, I thought the actual Christmas special was really good, but not quite the best. I will be careful to avoid spoilers in the rest of my review. I agree with the reviewer who said that some of the scenes with villains seemed rushed. I see why they were rushed, but I feel it would have been better to add more time to the special to allow room for more details. That being said, the important parts that contributed towards the plot were timed quite well. Some have said the plotlines were sometimes too confusing and did not blend well together in some areas. I did not find them to be a bit confusing or not fitting, although I can see how it is possible to view them as so if the viewer is not paying attention. *POTENTIAL SPOILER BELOW* While some may say the regeneration was "rushed" as well, I actually think it was quite a fitting way for the Eleventh to regenerate. He was, sometimes, erratic; hence his regeneration ended up being so. *POTENTIAL SPOILER ABOVE* Overall, I felt it was a pretty good farewell to the Eleventh. Now for the nine month wait till we see the Twelth in a full episode...

- FANTASTIC!!!5 star

I absolutely love it. If you're a huge Who fan and will be watching this special many times, then it is most definitely worth the price. I like that the other episodes and the farewell to Matt Smith are included with the season pass.

- Good, but too expensive4 star

It's not really necessary to include the 2-part End Of Time story in this “season.” If anything The Eleventh Hour would've been a better inclusion since it's the real beginning of 11’s story. The special itself was pretty good, but really you're better off buying that single episode than this whole set.

- The Doctor Is5 star

The Doctor is strict ,nice, and cool!

- Awesome!5 star

first of all, the deluxe edition is awesome and has great content for the price. second, if anyone actually thought they were going to see it on the night it was on tv then they are clearly unfamiliar with how a season pass works. any horrible review because people didn’t read how season pass works should be ignored.

- Requested and received a refund.3 star

While I am still annoyed by the deceptive marketing of this product I am at least satisfied that iTunes has given me the refund that I requested. I am changing my review to reflect that.

- Farewell Matt5 star

I never in my life thought I would be a fan of the Doctor, as many of my pop culture fans were. Then Matt came along and opened up not only the world of the Doctor but they whole bloody universe. Thank you Raggedy Man, I truly will always remember when you were “THE” Doctor. An amazing send off, I could only hope I have the same send off in my own life…Thanks Matt!

- Complainers5 star

For all those who complained about paying the 8.99 or 12.99 for the episode you should have waited til you actually saw the episode on the list and bought it separately for 1.99. Instead you don't look at what your buying and pay for something you already have. Anyways the episode was amazing! And I'm very sad Matt is gone! :( goodbye raggedy man!

- A little disappointing3 star

Ok I have 7 Doctor Who shirts and many books and knick knacks from DW so watching my favorite Doctor leave was just disappointing. You would think that it would still be enjoyable, just sad. But it was disappointing because it was Matt's last episode and it wasn't heartbreaking. A good Doctor Who episode where a doctor leaves has to be heartbreaking or it's just not good. Also I just didn't like it. Matt Smith deserved his last episode to be good.

- Not Bad…but Not Great Either.3 star

I was really excited for this episode. Given the greatness of the 50th anniversary special, I was hoping that the same energy would be portrayed here. And to some degree I wasn't disappointed. However, without giving anything away, there were serious faults with Matt Smith's last episode. Primarily with the number of villains. While the teasers promised an epic last adventure for Smith's departure, I found that by including most of the major villains of the Doctor, it left very little time for storyline advancement. Enemies were introduced and then passed over more times than I can count. It would have been best to stick with one enemy (probably the Daleks ) and allow the rest of the time for awesome action/story advancement. Instead, there was little time for either. In addition, this episode lost a lot of the sadness/final feelings that made Tennant's exit so good. Smith's regeneration seemed rushed and the actual switch was really fast. Sadly, they left out a majority of Smiths cast (Dr. River Song especially), and at the end it seemed that they just ran out of time. I did enjoy this episode, but if you are looking for something like the 50th anniversary special (or the last episode before that "The Name of the Doctor"), then you will probably be disappointed.

- Going out in style5 star

Worth every penny. Just the special is brilliant, with a sweeter-than-expected story, several fun "WHAAAAT?" moments, and quite a few tearjerkers along the way. Add to that #10's swan song with #11's first moments, the full spectacle announcing the next Doctor, and a fond farewell to Matt, and it makes quite a little package. And you'll never think of cooking a turkey in quite the same way again.

- LOVE it KUDOS for the package deal5 star

Whatever you think of iTunes policies about this release you can for $2.99 American buy JUST the Christmas special or JUST the extras individually. I'm sure that iTunes markets them this way because some people like particular "monsters" or Doctor Who personalities and wish to purchase particular group packages. Nobody twisted your arm to buy the whole set did they? You can usually buy individual episodes for the above mentioned price but you get a price break when purchasing a package! If you want a "non-deluxe" edition of this Christmas special, then just buy the episode separately! There have been times when to sell a package and you only wanted one item sometimes they were marked "Season Only" and you had to buy it all Or nothing at all. KUDOS to iTunes for not doing that to this package. You have options, you choose and get what you pay for.

- Update Times5 star

When an episode airs on TV iTunes will have it at Midnight PST where Apple is located. I am huge Dr. Who fan and iTunes is the only way that I get my episodes. Trust me it is here now and know that for future reference.

- FINALLY5 star

Waiting till 1:00 to get this

- Disappointing - this is a cheap marketing trick!!!1 star

I am a very big fan of Doctor Who! Have been eagerly waiting "Time of the Doctor" to be released. As a big fan I have purchased all the seasons from iTunes. Now to see them wanting them to trick me into buying The End of Time 1&2 when I already own them is in poor taste. Doctor Who is Fantastic!!! Please don't let these gimmickry and cheap marketing tricks spoil what is one of all time great shows!

- Awesome5 star

I have already seen it and I am personally excited to wait for the episode to release so I can watch it 50 million more times to catch what I missed; it was a small price to pay.

- I agree. Blatant Bait and Switch.. DO NOT BUY YET.2 star

Set up as some stupid “season pass” when there is no “season” here. I already own the other stuff. All I want is “The Time of The Doctor.” This is called, “The Time Of The Doctor” but it should be called, “Some old stuff, some irrelevant stuff, and The Time of The Doctor is not currently available."

- This isn't the correct episode1 star

Just bought the season pass and it's episodes from 2009 that I didn't want..... Apple fix this. These are the incorrect episodes

- The Clock Strikes Twelves5 star

I wouldn’t of made it through the Eleventh’s regeneration without Amelia Pond by his side so thank you Karen Gillan! Matt you’ve been an amazing Doctor these past 4 years and have slowly wiggled your way into my heart and Whovians around the world, we couldn’t of missed your regeneration for the world. You’ve been one hell of a Doctor, you’ve brought us fish fingers and custard, bow ties that are cool, new dances, geronimo, a multitude of hats and the most amazing adventures. It’s funny I was watching the Graham Norton show not to long ago when he asked what was the audiences fantasies and at first I didn’t have a clue, but then I remembered like Amelia Pond, I was waiting for the Doctor and with you in our hearts I have journeyed to become who I am today filled with hope and knowing that I will never grow up at least not completely. As you leave and regenerate into a new Doctor, us Whovians will keep an ear out for the Tardis and its sounds and we will never forget you!

- Doctor Who: Time of the Doctor (Deluxe Edition)1 star

Very misleading indeed iTunes. It sure looks like you would be able to watch the main title at the time of purchase but apparently it isn't available for download as of the time I purchased it. Including which episodes are accessible when would be helpful.

- Rip off1 star

It would have been nice if Itunes was honest enough to admit that Time of the Doctor was not currently part of the Time of the Doctor package.

- Extremely Disappointed1 star

Does not include the 2013 Christmas episode, The Time of the Doctor. Not worth the price at all.

- Episode Available?5 star

When is the christmas special gonna be available?

- Fraud1 star

Fraud, fraud, fraud. iTunes, you're a real jerk! I spent the $8.99 plus tax expecting to see it tonight, especially since the page represents itself that way. I have the End of Time stories,& I don't care about the announcement special or trailer. As someone without cable, $8.99 sounded reasonable to pay to watch it the night of broadcast. Now I find I'm spending almost 70% on stuff I already own. Way to stay classy, iTunes. I suppose if you had been honest and said the actual special won't be up for a day or two (or more - who knows? iTunes certainly hasn't been honest about it) it would have hurt sales. What a Christmas bummer. It will be a real corker if iTunes releases a "non-deluxe" version in the next day or two for just $2.00. Live an learn. My lesson was about $7.00.

- Patient5 star

The episode wont be on iTunes until it airs on tv, and the fact that some of you are mad that they charged you for the other episodes is stupid because your the ones that paid for it. You could have read over what they were charging you for, and made a different choice, but you didnt. You could have been patient and waited to buy the episode after it aired or you can be content to wait like the rest of us are forced to, and enjoy Doctor Who like the Whovians I hope you are. Merry Christmas one and all and to all a good night.

- Very disappointing1 star

This is not quite what it seems. I already owned End of Tim 1 & 2, and the report announcing the new Doctor is 30 seconds, not 30 minutes. Not worth the price, even in SD.

- Bought the season pass giving 5 stars but.5 star

Im actually very dissapointed I bought the season pass for this becuase I want to watch the time of the doctor deluxe edition. However I already owned end of time part 1 and end of time part 2 hd I wish when you purchase things like this it gives you the season pass but dosen't make you own a duplicate of the episodes you already own. it should sort those things out. but none the less I gave it 5 stars becuase Doctor who is a great tv series.

- Whovian rating 5 stars5 star

I am obsessed with doctor who I am a dedicated whovian I literally had my eyes glued to the screen

spyridus - Disappointing3 star

Going to miss Matt Smith, already not liking the new doctor...the fun part of the show the past 10 years was that they brought sex appeal into the show, this new doctor has zero appeal. It's like we're back to the original series with old doctors again. :(

All you need is me. - Terrible deal.1 star

I'm sorry, a terrible regeneration story & a cheap live TV show are the extras for this "deluxe" version? Certainly will not be getting the whole package.

John David999 - The Doctor's time isn't on time2 star

It's a nice pack and all, but… WHERE'S THE TIME OF THE DOCTOR!? When I buy something that says it lets me download the new episode when it comes out, and then it comes out, and I can't download it, that's not okay, Apple.

Xtrasun - Umm...3 star

Shouldn't you have The Eleventh Hour? It WAS his true first episode, you know.

Fanhey - Why include End of Time part 1 & 24 star

I won’t buy the season pass, I already bought End of Time parts 1 & 2 when they originally came out over 3 years ago. I wish there was something else new to offer, I’m just left with getting the episode, no deluxe parts. If I could get a cheaper rate since I already bought parts years ago, then I’d invest in it for the specials.

grpime - Is it really deluxe3 star

The show is great, and I’m really going to miss Matt Smith as the Doctor. But I really don’t want last years xmas special. Is there a “non-deluxe” version going to be available?

Spiffo- - Great Episode, not impressed with so-called Deluxe Version though.3 star

So deluxe means adding two previously released (and purchased by me) episodes, a trailer, and a tacky announcement of who the ‘new’ Doctor will be. It may not be iTunes fault but I do wonder at the BBC’s cynical marketing of this so called Deluxe package. It’s not Deluxe, it’s a rip off. That’s the last time I’ll preorder. As to the Episode itself; it’s great. I’m just sorry my enjoyment was soured by the lack of Deluxe-ness.

BenDTU - The last 15 minutes are pretty good2 star

They also made the Cybermen competent again, which was a surprise. Otherwise it’s an incoherent mess.

Taz-27 - Thank you!5 star

Matt Smith at his best, and a wonderfully written episode to do the 11th(ish) doctor justice. Looking forward to Peter's first episode. Bowties will Always be cool

plšek - Buy the episode only!5 star

I love the Time of the Doctor, I think it was a brilliant send-off to Matt Smith. But, I would not buy the whole $17 bundle. Re-released episodes should not come in new episode bundles!! So, spend $3.50 and get the episode and only the episode. (And maybe also Doctor Who Live (introduction of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor)

TheLonelyStarr - Bad1 star

This episode of doctor who, the storyline is all wrong the doctor says he has no regenerations left because he regenerated in the time war. The writers have forgotten to add the fact that the doctor had regenerated (as David tennant) in the stolen earth(this is only one account of a regeneration I have noted)

Kenny Erb - WHEN?????????5 star

When when when when when when when????? It’s released on iTunes US? It’s been played on ABC.. WHEN IS IT GETTING RELEASED ON HERE????

FBongi - New episodes only1 star

From what I can tell, this is not worth buying if you already have The End of Time. It seems ridiculous to ask people to buy two duplicate episodes just to get one new one. I hope a version of this year’s Christmas special is released for fans without the duplicate older episodes tacked on.

PaulAmyes - Why?1 star

Why bundle this episode with The End Of Time? It seems a cynical exercise in extracting cash.
