THE HOLLOW POINT is a visceral story, set in the back roads of a border town, about a botched Mexican cartel arms deal that leaves several dead and a bag of money missing. An aging retired sheriff with violent tendencies and his young replacement with a dark past must join forces to investigate the source of this deal and protect the residents of the town.
Los Reyes County, Arizona. Leland, a retired lawman, works with Wallace, the new sheriff who replaces him, when a vicious hit man, sent by a Mexican drug cartel, threatens their border small town.

Intelligent, compelling, great actingThis isn't 'Sicario'. It's about gun smuggling and how it intersects with a desperate, nearly-hopeless worn-out border town. This is paced in a more literary fashion; lots of acting artfully off-camera; dramatic things that go without mention because the characters are gripped by their isolating, singular straits. A lean, character-driven story. I found myself really liking its story..Score: 5/5
