In a small woodsy Oregon town, a group of friends -sensitive Gordie (Wil Wheaton), tough guy Chris (River Phoenix), flamboyant Teddy (Corey Feldman), and scaredy-cat Vern (Jerry O'Connell) - are in search of a missing teenager's body. Wanting to be heroes in each other's and their hometown's eyes, they set out on an unforgettable two-day trek that turns into an odyssey of self-discovery. They sneak smokes, tell tall tales, cuss 'cause it's cool and band together when the going gets tough. When they encounter the town's knife-welding hoods who are also after the body, the boys discover a strength they never knew they had. Stand By Me is a rare and special film about friendship and the indelible experiences of growing up. Filled with humor and suspense, it is based on the novella 'The Body' by Stephen King.
Stand By Me Film Synopsis
After learning that a boy their age has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four Oregon boys decide to go see the body. On the way, Gordie, Vern, Chris and Teddy encounter a mean junk man and a marsh full of leeches, as they also learn more about one another and their very different home lives. Just a lark at first, the boys' adventure evolves into a defining event in their lives.

Best Coming of Age MovieStand by Me is a classic coming of age story that has stood up to the test of time there hasn’t and probably will never will be again it makes you really feel the emotions of the characters and what it is to be a kid growing up every time I sit and watch the movie it brings back strong memories and feelings that don’t always surface I would recommend this film to anyone that hasn’t seen it or any teen that needs to understand what life is all about Rob Reiner did a fantastic job on a low budget with kids that some would turn out to go on being super famous with one River Phoenix passing years later...but Stand by Me will always live on in the hearts of those that watch it...Richard Dreyfuss did a great job as the old Gordie narrating the story.Css44Score: 5/5
