Definitely recommend!This movie is VERY good! The pace of the movie is great and is very interesting. Although it is very long, (2h 30m) every part is meaningful and plays a part in the movie💗This movie is a bit confusing and deep but is not hard to follow. Contact has a great plot and shows you a different side of life in deep space. This movie does a great job showing how things would be a waste of space if we were the only life in the universe. This movie is just SO good and awesome and amazing and beautiful and intense and EVERYTHING. Hope this is helpful! I love this movieI cannot say enough good things about this movie. If you’re into sci fi and you’re into space, this movie is great for you! I first saw this movie in 2012 and it changed my life. One of my favorite movies!The very thing that Mike LaSalle of the SF Chronicle criticized is exactly what I like about this film. The dilemma that Jodie Foster's character faces when she asks others for their faith that her trip actually took place is elegant, simply stated, and not obfuscated by some oblique metaphoric plot gimmick. Foster's performance is subtle and nuanced and I appreciate it more every time I come back to this film. If I have any criticism, it revolves around Matthew McConaughye's character which is a bit stereotyped. I think this is one of Zemeckis' best films, and is often overlooked or overshadowed by his other work. I, for one, am proud to have it in my collection..BocaboyScore: 5/5

As Relevant Today… as 20 years ago...Sci-Fi or (Sci-Non Fiction), at its best...A ‘what if’, story of a possible way life and sentient beings might contact earth and other planets of life. It gently shows contrast to those who fear human capabilities by beliefs in religion- and the wondrous connection of science and scientific human understanding. It delves into a mathematical encrypted sonic message that suggests a vague machine. Does it travel through Time? Does it thrust you through a wormhole to another galaxy? Is it a Hoax? Only Jodie Foster can figure it out— and what a ride it is... A classic movie ahead of its time... Add 25-30 points to score- for mid-1990’s politically correct allowances, and the insecure reaction of some who this movie threatens their belief systems, (thus rating it lower subconsciously-). It’s well made, thought provoking, edge of your seat drama, got love story (kinda), characters with purpose and very well acted... a must watch film and well balanced movie..M_POSSIBLEScore: 5/5

Among the best sci-fi ever!I have to admit, I haven't read Sagan's book. However, the ideas behind this movie are very faithful to what Carl Sagan is famous for.
