Thanks for the restorationOne of the regrets i had over the years was that this fine ;piece of work had deteriorated over the years- and that perhaps a "virgin" copy hadn't been salted away. This was the first Cinerama movie and although the Cinerama wrap around effect was just OK- even then- the movie itself was great. A well done major compression of a lot of history- done 60s style (means not real accurate) but very entertaining. THIS restoration is just what this movie needs..Score: 5/5
Buyers Beware!!! Where's the Overture and Intermission music???One of the great scores of all time and Itunes has decided to edit it and cut the amazing Overture, Intermission and Exit music. Buyers beware of iTunes ......better to buy it on VUDU or Amazon...you can see the uncut version!.Score: 4/5
Great ClassicYou would think after all these there could have been some digital repairing of the those two stupid vertical lines very bad production value. The movie is too good to be viewed like it's a bootleg copy..Score: 4/5
Where is the Smilebox versionI’ve saw this movie last year at the Cinerama Dome in the correct Cinerama format. Super Awesome! There is no comparison between that experience and seeing this movie flattened. It’s almost as bad as pan and scan! (younger readers can google that term) There is a blue ray version which includes the look of Cinerama (Smilebox) so I won’t be purchasing this version from the Itunes store until they have all the Cinerama movies in Smilebox so I can see them again as the director intended. Apple is usually on the cutting edge with excellent transfers, in the original format, but I think they “missed the boat” this time. Come on Apple, you can do this!.Score: 5/5

Excellent High Def. versionAnyone that has seen this old epic on television would have seen the version with two vertical lines going through the film. The original movie was filmed using three cameras using the Cinerama technique. This HD version has cleaned up all of that and it is worth owning due to the excellent scenery shots. The characters come out very clear. One very few occasions one will see some artifacts from the old process. A couple of the scenes have a fisheye effect. All in all, this is a keeper for anyone who loves westerns..Score: 5/5

Probably my favorite movieI saw this in Cinerama in its original release as a child and it made a permanent impression on me. Admittedly, I was already a budding historian but it had to be memorable for everyone who saw it as it was meant to be seen. Yes, there is a "corny" element to it now, fifty years after it was made, and it is painfully obvious that many scenes were shot on a sound stage but it remains rousing (and even inspiring) entertainment. The music is absolutely awesome!!!.Score: 5/5
