Brought me to tearsI went in to the theatre, fully knowing that the crew of Food, Inc. would bring me another compelling story of America's current problems about food. The documentary somehow managed to exceed my expectation. Whenever the music of the film quieted down, I could hear people 3 rolls behind me sobbing, silently and painfully, at the hardships that people are going through in the documentary, and at the political plight of the current state of American hunger. I wouldn't pretend and say that this film is the solution to the severe problem this country is facing. I probably wouldn't even say that this film is unbiased in its narrative, as most documentaries tend to be focused on telling the story of one side. However, I have absolutely 100% certainty to say that it has done a fantastic job at presenting the case, and putting the statistics in context of the poor but respectful people who are living these lives with little hope. Something needs to be done, and you watching this documentary could be one of the vital steps..Score: 5/5
ObesityI see A LOT of fat kids in America, and many more obese adults on food stamps. While fruits and vegetables may cost more than they have in the past, they're still affordable. Also, farmers markets are much cheaper too. This film is just another attempt to smear conservatives and use minority communities to do it...sickening..Score: 1/5

I'm only one personI'm a Food Service Supervisor for a charter school in Ohio. Over the past 4 months I've photographed and journalized some of the food items that have come in for the children to eat. I'm disgusted and embarrassed at what I've seen knowing that some of my kids won't eat or will have very little to eat once they leave school. I hang my head in shame when they say Ms. Lomax why are you feeding us this nasty food. All I can say is baby I don't make the food but if I did I promise you it would look and taste better than Childhood Obesity, Hunger, and Nutrition have dominated headlines and I am an advocate for those initiatives. Yet day day after day I'm aiding them by feeding my kids processed meals that in some cases look as though they've already been chewed and spit out. Why can't the children of this generation have "real" food cooked by the lunch lady? The first thing I hear is budget this and that and I wonder if the powers that be plan on budgeting in the fact of less lives in our later years? TrueThe story is true, and hunger is a problem in america. however the film does not offer any specific solution, rather vague steps and problems to taking those steps in the last 3 mins of the film. BTW get the SD version not HD, it doesn't download quickly nor does it play well.Score: 3/5
A Place at the TableThe images in this film are outstanding. The principles involved are believable. The story shows the disregard for common humanity by our conservative leaders and the weakness of our liberal leaders. I was VERY disappointed that at the end of the movie there wasn't a call to action. Nothing about how to contact national organizations leading to local food banks. This movie left me with anger and frustration. One of the directors mentioned on Jon Stewart that it takes only 6 phone calls to a Representative for them to change their vote...where was that mentioned in the movies credits. FocusIt's great to see a visual pinpointing the fact that hunger and obesity are "neighbors", as the film puts it. We have to stop thinking inside the proverbial box and I am confident this film will create a conversation and eventually a reaction.
