Also, Andy, concerned that Dylan isn’t fitting in with his new colleagues, encourages him to accept an invitation to a BBQ being thrown by one of the detectives..

Potential, but....It’s a good concept, and one good key actor ... but if it’s gonna fly, the writing and directing needs to find some magic. (Edited after3rd episode)- this is embarrassing. There are hints of lifted story bits from other detective shows, but this one! Good heavens, no shame? Young boy murdered who is from a community not Amish but like Amish, who is prodigy pianist, secretly practicing with black and white colored sticks he leapt in a box. Poor Elementary cloneI guess they are looking for a replacement but for me this isn’t it. I have only watched the first 3 episodes and knew who did it as soon as they appeared on screen (were you supposed to)? I am not watching any more. Elementary with touches of Sherlock, not original at all. Very disappointing! Oh, and Alan Cumming as a tough guy taking out bad guys.... lol.Score: 1/5
Good start...Not perfect yet (more of a 4 1/2 stars) but getting there (hopefully). The chemistry between the two main actors isn't 100% right yet. Not a fan of the (spolier alert) gay male protagonist role because it excludes any chance of a romantic involvement between the two main characters, which is a pity. Oh well, maybe he is going to be bisexual (as he claims he is in real life), so we're good. LOL On a more serious note, the show has potential and I hope it is going to be fun..Score: 5/5
Lazy writing (aka, straight up stole episodes from Bones)That’s how you know they are on a disaster course, when they are stealing episodes, story arcs and complete lines from another show. It’s pathetic. Don’t waste your time here. Just go watch Bones..Score: 1/5

Not original, but still fun. This is a shameless knock off of both Elementary and Castle, even down to the closing music. The set up is incredibly unoriginal, and it's way too obvious that Alan Cummings was able to work every personal fantasy and preference into the details and backstory of his character (should have let the writers make the character more believable)... but as always, Alan Cummings is good in just about everything he does, so I'll be adding this to the list of weekly shows I watch for sure, and try to overlook the parts that don't mesh. If this doesn't last, it's because the actors had too much control over the details..Score: 5/5
Not perfect, but the characters are greatOverall, I have enjoyed Season 1 of Instinct. I really enjoy Dylan's character, but I also enjoy his interactions with Lizzie and Andy. I find myself laughing out loud at some of the well-timed antics of these three characters (e.g., when Andy drinks Dylan's tequila). The timing in some episodes can be improved, and I admit that the actual mystery in some episodes feels tired or is otherwise unintersting to me. However, I keep wanting to watch more due to the characters and their interactions. It's not as good as Elementary, but overall, I like it..Score: 4/5
Ep 3 Stolen from BonesI like Alan Cummings but this episode was stolen from Bones “The Plain in the Prodigy” it wasn’t similar, you guys actually stole dialogue! Word for word. There is no way the writers can claim any defense, I was able to quote lines without ever seeing this episode before. The writers room should be fired..Score: 1/5
Not BadThink Castle with a more plausible reason as to why the "writer" was allowed to work with the cop. The dynamic between the two leads is interesting. I was curious how Alan Cummings would play as this character and I think he did an amazing job. Not sure if they can keep it up but I will tune in to find out..Score: 4/5
